Overlooking the lounge and dining areas is the fully equipped modern kitchen containing everything any master chef would require to cook a sumptuous meal for the family after a hard day hitting the slopes!

Under floor heating and a beautiful slow combustion fire keeps you warm in the Winter months. The glowing fire will instantly make you feel toasty and warm when you arrive home from your journey.

There is a reverse cycle air-conditioner which cools down the property during the warmer months. Mountain biking is very popular in the Kosciuszko National Park during this time, and The Cottage offers the perfect base in which to explore the beautiful surroundings of the high country.

The Cottage is tastefully decorated with an eclectic mix of antique and modern furnishings, including beautiful pieces of art for you to admire while you are sharing a bottle of wine.

Spectacularly land-scaped outdoor areas capture the morning sun, or provide sheltered privacy for a long leasurely lunch. You may even want to simply sit and enjoy the magnificent sunsets that span the horizon.

A mix of deciduous, ornamental and fruit trees under-planted with roses, and a variety of high-country plants, will set the tone as you relax on the terrace on our Adirondack chairs with a good book.

Things to do

Walk to the Historic Village of Dalgety and enjoy a coffee at the local cafe and nursery, or a drink at the Hotel. Take a walk along the banks of the Snowy River and enjoy the abundant bird and wildlife, including platypus, kangaroos and wombats. You may even want to have a swim, or try you luck at catching some fish to later cook on the BBQ.

Dalgety is located approx 30kms from Jindabyne, the gateway to the Snowy Mountains and the snowfields of Mount Perisher and Thredbo. In Winter Jindy is a buzz with Skiers and Snowboarders all heading up to enjoy the fresh powder of the day. In Summer you can enjoy sailing, water-skiing and other fun activities on Lake Jindabyne, or go mountain bike riding!

There is also horseriding, camping, local tennis courts, and bushwalking tracks all locally available for those wanting a holiday packed with adventure.

For those who are simply wanting to unwind and relax, you can take a scenic country drive, or just bask in the delightful ambience and enjoy the spectacular mountain views that can be seen from almost every window of the Cottage.

Tha Gallery is now open just out from Dalgety. It is open on Fridays for dinner, and on Saturday and Sunday you can enjoy a hearty Breakfast, long Lunch or a romantic Dinner. Tapas is also available throughout the day and early evening. Gifts, homewares, jewellery, scafes, bags and special items for the garden are also available here to brouse and enjoy.

  • "Thank you both for a wonderful long weekend with our grandchildren. They wanted to go back when we got home they loved the cottage so much, I believe the animals had a big part in that too. The cottage was beautifully decorated and very warm and inviting after a long day on the snow with the crowds. Very peaceful and nice to come home to a cosy fire and enjoy a glass of red. We will be back. Thank you again."
    Tracey , June 2011

  • "Our stay at the Studio couldn't have been better. We went to relax and see some snow and for 4 days we didn't have a care in the world. Mary and Brian couldn't have done more to make us feel at home. Cosy is the word. Oh and Lenah loved feeding carrots to Champas the horsey."
    Shahane, August 2010

  • "Mary and Brian were really friendly and willing to help, but provided plenty of privacy. The house is cozy and tidy, with all the comforts that one might need during holidays. If you are a dog person but can't have one of your own, Mary will let Perno and Georgie around so you take advantage and play with them. A great place to chill out. "
