Sandpiper Ocean Cottages

Description

Set on 4 acres of natural gardens are our 4 private, fully self-contained cottages. 3 of the cottages are 2 bedroom, sleeping 5 people, and our newest cottage is 1 bedroom for couples only.

Each cottage is a house in itself, with full kitchen and laundry facilities, plus spacious lounge and dining areas with a log fire. All have sunny, north facing balconies and are quite private from each other.

We have absolute beachfront on the beautiful Denison Beach. You can walk barefoot for miles, swim safely or go fishing. Either way the only sounds you'll hear are the waves, the birds and the squeak of the sand as you walk.

The property has a AAA 4 star rating and is the perfect place to explore Tasmania's East Coast. It's only 7km from Bicheno where there are plenty of good eating places. Seafood lovers especially will be delighted with the quality available.

Bicheno also offers a range of activities from penguin tours to diving, to fishing charters.

The World Heritage listed Wineglass Bay is only half an hour away. Bay of Fires is just under an hour to the north.

DVD's and fishing gear are available for hire.

Rates for the cottages are:

High Season $200-$250 a night
Regular $175-$210 a night
Winter $145-$170 a night

Additional adults are $30 each and children $20.

During summer, we show movies in the gardens when the weather suits.

The Beach House & The Lake House

For those wanting even more space and privacy, we also offer The Beach House and The Lake House. These properties adjoin the Sandpiper Cottages.

The Beach House is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom (incl ensuite) house with great ocean views and its own beach access. It sleeps 6-8 people. Being on 30 acres it's completely private.

Rates (for 2 people) for The Beach House are:

High Season $300 a night
Regular $250 a night
Winter $190 a night

Additional adults are $30 each and children $20.


The Lake House is a stunning architect designed property with 2/3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on 80 acres. It sleeps 5 people, but can be adapted for more. It also has 2 lounge areas and a billiards room. The Lake House is not suitable for children under 8. Pricing is the same as The Beach House, except additional people are $45.

Minimum Stays

In the Cottages we have a 2 night minimum stay requirement, except over the summer holidays (mid December to end January) and Easter, where we have a 4 night minimum.

In The Beach & Lake Houses it's 3 nights minimum, with 7 nights in the summer holidays.

If there is a gap between 2 bookings less than the minimum stay, we'll be happy to take shorter reservations.
