Tathra is about three hours from Canberra, roughly 5 hours south of Sydney and 7 hours north of Melbourne.Tathra Beach is famous for the Tathra Wharf, great spot for a fish or a light meal and coffee. Tathra is also finalist in cleanest beach of the year 2008 nationally. The surfclub is located at the southern end of the beach and is patrolled every day during the Christmas season and on weekends from Sept/Oct holidays until Anzac Day. Tathra is surrounded by national parks where there are many great walks and fishing/swimming destinations. It is also the home of the Tathra Pickle Factory and Bega Dried Foods. Tathra has an enviable skate park situated next to a wonderful children's playground, bbq's and shelters for a wonderful family outing, located just behind the surfclub. There are many local galleries to visit and the view from some of our coffee shops cannot be beaten. Tennis, bowls, golf, water skiing, fishing, surfing and relaxing are easy to enjoy in beautiful tranquil Tathra. Come and relax on the front deck and watch time go by.
