On the beach where the river meets the sea – set beside the picturesque Swan River Estuary only a few kilometres from the Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay – Alluvion Beach Cottage is a comfortable, modern and self-contained property. Alluvion Beach Cottage is located at Swanwick, a short drive from Coles Bay, on Tasmania’s east coast. The cottage is set beside the picturesque Swan River estuary only a few kilometres from the Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay.

The Cottage

The cottage sleeps six in two queen rooms and one twin room. It is fully furnished, including a well equipped kitchen, television and digital video display, linen and towels, and with the deck, barbecue and log burner, is a cottage for all seasons. This individual property, with plenty of off-street parking, gives scope to enjoy the local birdlife and the garden, which runs down to the beach. Fishing rods are available for fishing off the beach, and golf clubs are provided for use on the nearby nine-hole pay and play course. Discounts apply to off-peak weekly stays.

  • "We stayed 7 nights. Alluvion cottage is a wonderful getaway. The kids enjoyed playing on the beach accessible from the yard behind the cottage and we explored the wonderful estuary with kayaks. Evenings and mornings on the water were especially magical. Great to be able to take our dog. Visits to honeymoon bay, wineglass bay, the friendlies, and hazards beach all within an easy drive were also really great. We had no luck fishing for bream from the jetty but got a few tips from the locals which we will try next time. Five stars, thanks so much, we feel so refreshed from our stay at this very special part of Tasmania!"

  • "Thanks for a great four night stay at Alluvion Beach Cottage, we had a lovely time. The Cottage was very comfortable with everything that we needed and having the river so close was wonderful. The children loved the canoes and playing in the sand and water. It is just a beautiful part of the world, and we would love to come back."

  • "A very comfortable house in the most beautiful location. We enjoyed a BBQ on the verandah overlooking the bay at sunset and lazing on the hammock. The house is very well equipped and clean. It's location at Swanwick means that you do have to drive into Coles Bay and the Freycinet National Park for food/attractions etc, but we enjoyed staying out of the very populated areas - it was lovely to come "home" to a deserted bay to wander along at sunset! Many thanks to the owner who allowed us to arrange our stay at the last minute. I would highly recommend this abode to anyone visiting the Freycinet Peninsula."

  • "Our family of seven had a wonderful week at Alluvian Beach Cottage. We were three generations and the house catered amazingly for everyone. Between walks along the beach, kayaking, reading in the hammock, fishing, bird watching, and beach toys for the kids there was lots to do and that was before we even started exploring all the beauty the Freycinet National Park had to offer! We loved every minute and left feeling really relaxed and rejuvinated."

  • "I would definately recommend Alluvion Beach Cottage to others. Neat and tidy, has all the basic needs and cozy log fire. Extra rooms are locked up when not in use. The beach is at the base of the spacious garden - a perfect spot to watch the sunset. Beautiful Freycinet National Park around the corner and a great fresh oyster farm not far away."
