  • "This is the second time that we spend a week at Djin Djin (Forest Cottage). It was just as delightful as the first time around, three years ago. Inside the cottage it feels homely and cosy as if we have lived there already for a long time and could live here forever. The worst part of this romantic hideaway was that we had to leave again. Highly recommended for couples! "

  • "I would highly recommend Forest Cottage to anyone who wants a tranquil retreat that is a little bit off the beaten track but close to the Caves, Augusta and Margaret River. We arrived to a warm and cosy cottage, equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Thanks to Carsten for the continuous supply of wood. And breakfast to the dance of the fairy wrens is very hard to beat. "

  • "My partner and I needed a getaway from our busy lifestyle in the city. The Forest Cottage was just the right place for this. Cartsen & Diannes hospitality was exceptional. Not only was the fire crackling away when we arrived in the late afternoon making the cottage lovely and warm, the outside light was left on for us when we were returning after dark which made finding the cottage much easier! The cottage is close enough to many attractions for those that like to get out and about amazing walks along the limestone cliffs at Contos Beach and through the Boranup forest, wineries and the caves. A 10 minute walk through the forest and we are at the Boranup Gallery caf. We recommend their breakfasts and coffee. This cottage had everything we needed. We felt so relaxed in this peaceful and tranquil environment. We cannot wait to come back again and highly recommend this cottage."

  • "Was nice to head to Margaret River the week after Easter Weekend as all the weekend traffic was going in the other direction. The Forest Cottage is about 20min from Margs, found it very tranquil and relaxing to retire to the cosy cottage knowing there were no other guests around. The drive down was beautiful through the trees and the drive to the wineries and local beaches didn't bother us at all. Would definitely recommend to couples wanting to get away somewhere quiet. The owners were also very nice and we felt we had adequate privacy even though they are practically next door. Loved the wood fired stove!!"

  • "A little piece of Paradise! My partner and I can not speak highly enough of Carsten and Dianne's hospitality. We were made to feel like family and it felt like we were leaving our home behind when it was time to leave. 10 days of pure bliss, relaxation, peace and quiet and tranquility. A gorgeous little cottage with all the comforts but all the beauty of nature, away from the hustle bustle of Margaret River but close enough when needed. A holiday to remember forever and wish to return and experience again. Sharyn and Stuart"

  • "I went down to Boranup Forest cottage for Easter weekend with my partner, and we had a fantastic time! The cottage is sensational, nicely tucked away from all the busy-ness of Margaret River, and a very short drive to some lovely beaches. The cottage has every comfort, such as a dvd player and large TV, but is still rustic and charming at the same time. Carsten and Dianne were wonderful hosts, there was even fresh bread waiting for us in the cottage on arrival! I can't recommend this cottage enough, I certainly plan to be a regular visitor!"

  • "We have been going down South for a number of years, always staying at different places. This place has topped it all. It is the ideal getaway for a couple. It is situated amongst the trees on a quiet property, where you can hear the birds the wind in the trees and at night sometimes a family of possums. The owners are super friendly and live nearby without being too close. It is only a short drive to all the beautiful sites in this area and the forest is especially spectacular. I cannot recommend it highly enough. For a couple that want to be alone, away from the hectic pace of the cities, it is paradise. "
