What a lovely warm cottage and so convenient to everything. The weather was typically "Blue Mountains October" with wisps of fog and fine mist, which made it an absolute pleasure to come home to the warm fire and view over the valley from the full window wall. I haven't played scrabble for years, but enjoyed it and the other games even though I was soundly beaten.
We will stay here again without hesitation.

We had a wonderful stay at Sidney's Retreat. The house was very warm and cosy with a wood fire. The kitchen was stocked for everything we needed to cook. The beds are very comfy and cosy. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it for others.

I stayed at Sidney's Retreat for 4 nights. This cottage is just gorgeous. I could not get over how quiet it is there, and yet so close to everything.
Getting up in the morning to that view is a great way to start the day, and then snuggling up in front of the fire after a day of walking is just lovely.
I highly recommend staying at this property!

We spent a very relaxing two nights in beautiful Katoomba, and easily would have stayed longer if time permitted. The scenery is fantastic. In the area there are many attractions to see, trails to hike and photos to take. The cottage was great, with a comfortable home-y feeling. The sunrise and view each morning was a real treat to wake up to. As the other guests have commented - downtown Katoomba is in easy walking distance with shops restuarants and other amenities just minutes away.

I was delighted to see that Sidney's Retreat is even more stunning than the pictures on the website. The view out the floor to ceiling windows is beautiful and it was a treat to have cockatoos visiting the trees around the deck every evening. The interiors - furnishings, decor, bathroom, beds - are beautiful and comfortable. Location can't be beat with grocery stores and restaurants within a 5 minute walk and the Three Sisters a 5 minute drive. We felt very at home and loved staying here.

As ever, a delightful stay at this beautiful house. There is so much character that we find something new there every time we stay. It was our 3rd stay in just over a year, and we plan to make it a regular event!
The only thing is that the wood supply for the open fire was on the low side, but we managed.

we stayed for 3 nights, it was ideal for what we wanted, private, self contained and had everything we could have asked for. i really enjoyed that we didnt have to engage with any real estate or owners.
the heating was more than ample and the supply of wood for the fire was a real treat.
the beds were comfortable, and the bath tub was big enough for two!
i will return to Sidneys.
Thanks

The accommodation was breath taking, the baloney and windows showcased an extraordinary view which took our breath away. I was impressed with how affordable it was to rent the cottage and how we were remote enough for privacy, yet close enough so it was just a walking distance to shops and transport. We would definitely come here again, it was great!
Also the photo didn't do the cottage justice, it's even more stunning in real life.

After my first trip to Sidneys Retreat in winter 2008, I couldn't wait to take my parents when they visited me from the UK this christmas. They, as I had, fell for the rustic charm of the place. We enjoyed some fabulous hikes around the blue mountains and felt totally relaxed at the house. Having seen the photographs, my sister has made a special request to stay there next time she is in Australia. It had become a very special place to me and my family.

we had a great time staying at sidneys retreat it is really central to town and a 20-30 minute walk to the three sisters. The cabin is well fitted out with a fire place and claw bath to the great outside deck with glimpses of the jamasen valley. If you are into walking it is a five minute walk from the train station then walk up to the main street to catch any bus that will take you to where you want to go.

We had a lovely couple of days at Sidney's Retreat - beautiful & interesting furnishings, great view and fireplace, and a very convenient location. They provide everything you could want, and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. Lots of information about the local area, and the big beds were fantastically comfortable. I have found in the past that dog friendly holiday accommodation normally means the humans suffer in terms of comfort and decor - not the case with Sidney's Retreat - it was fantastic. I will definitely be back.

We arrived on Friday evening and instantly fell in love with the wonderful cottage. The real fire in the lounge is gorgeous, and an absolute joy to stoke! We constantly discovered antique items, dotted in various rooms, and all of them seemed to be very clever designs, especially those found in the kitchen.
The unique furniture and huge beds were a pleasure to use, and we found the cottage to be very well equipped.
We will definitely be visiting again in the future, and we're looking forward to it already. We were sad to leave today. It's a wonderful cottage, in a beautiful part of the world.

We had a great stay - thank you! Stunning aspect off the back deck, and amazing sunrise view. House is quite rustic and homey. The only draw back for us was no dishwasher, but otherwise it was great. We'd like to stay again! Lisa & Andrew

We enjoyed our stay at Sydney's Retreat. It was well maintained, extremely well located to the centre of town, and very cozy with great views out across the valley. Exactly what we were after to spend a peaceful few days inside reading books, looking at the view, with the warmth of a lod fire.

sidney's is a treat. if it weren't for the mountain trails near by i would've been stuck on the couch or in the bath...both good options considering the 'ambience'.

Sidneys Retreat is an excellent choice for anyone looking to get away from it all for a weekend in the Blue Moutains. The house is wonderfully set up with great views, a log fire (which is set up and ready to go on arrival - you just need to light a match!) 2 big bedrooms, heaters (which we needed!!) a good kitchen and big bathroom. Also, another nice touch is that included in the cost you get butter, bacon, eggs, milk, a loaf of bread, coffee and tea in the kitchen (a real bonus if you arrive late as we did - you can have a nice breakfast on the first morning). It is located only a 2 minute walk from Katoomba Street and 5 minutes to the main restaurants / pubs in town. We had a great long weekend here and definitely plan to come back next year - Sidneys Retreat is definitely highly recommended by us - 5*'s !!!!!!!!

Ambience was great, view delightful, clean and very comfortable. The after care when we discovered we had left some items was brilliant with express post delivering our left items. We would stay there again and lie back in that lovely deep bath.
