Description

Belle Vue Beach House is a classic Tassie shack that, until its recent renovations, has remained untouched for the past 50 odd years.
Ideally located opposite the famous Binalong Bay beach, the breathtaking, uninterrupted views are truly one of the induglences that life has to offer.
With its north-facing orientation from the deck, you can soak up the hypnotic views of the Bay of Fires, famous for its endless private bays of explosive coloured boulders, pure white sand and pristine ocean.
Within an easy 10-minute drive from the east coast's largest town, St Helens, Binalong Bay is the perfect place to unwind and forget about the outside world as time beats to a different drum here.
Recently topping its list of the world's most emerging destinations for 2009, international guidebook ' Lonely Planet' nominated this location as one of the world's top spots and stated; "this is the secret edge of Tasmania, laid out like a pirate's treasure map of perfect beach after sheltered cove, all fringed with forest . . . now is the time to visit as the crowds are sure to follow!"

Belle Vue Beach House is positioned perfectly to offer you quality interior furnishings and finishes to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.
The outside deck offers substantial opportunity for entertaining and relaxing while taking in all the bay has to offer. Some treats may catch you by surprise. Such as large pods of dolphins, 40 or more, accompnied by seals, coming within metres of the shoreline in their pursuit of a feed of the ever present 'blackback' salmon. Even Humpback whales can be watched right from our deck on their migrations north and south, generally hanging around and playing for days on end. There is also a secret population of fairy pengiuns living their lives right under our noses. But please don't tell anyone!
For fishing enthusiasts, the area is known as the 'Game Fishing Capital' of Tasmania with large schools of salmon, yellowfin tuna and even marlin on the menu. For fly-fishing enthusiasts, take your choice of ocean, estuary or freshwater pursuits with some of Tasmanias best trout waters within an easy drive.
Belle Vue has recently been renovated with a contemporary modern edge, but still maintaining that cosy, intimate, beachy feel. Offering 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 outside with laundry facilities), one fabulous open plan living/dining area with a fully equipped kitchen for entertaining. If you can't be bothered slaving over the bbq, head down to the Binalong Bay Restaurant/Cafe. It's only 150 metres from our door step.
Alternatively, try your hand at our authentic Italian Wood Fired Oven, which also creates some fantastic roasting options for the budding chefs amongst you!
The 3 bedrooms offer 1 Queen, 1 Double and 2 single beds.
All new appliances and equipment, including bedding and linen.

Activities offered in the area and surrounds include: fabulous endless beach and bush walking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, scuba diving, surfing, deep sea game fishing, golfing and tennis.
Accessible noteworthy locations for a full or part day road trip from Binalong Bay include: Pyengana Dairy Company (arpprox 30 min drive), St Columba Falls (approx 40 min), Freycinet National Park, Wineglass Bay, Coles Bay (approx 1.5 hr), St Helens village/wharf/shops (10 mins) and the fantastic Village Store Cafe (recently voted best cafe in Tassie).
If you are planning on touring around Tasmania, Binalong Bay is the perfect place to base yourself for a few days as so many places of interest can be reached within an hour or two's drive from here. The immediate attraction that grabs you here is the endless beautiful beaches and surroundings but the peaceful, laidback atmosphere is often what people enjoy the most.
We often hear our guests comment;

"l wish we had booked our stay at Belle Vue Beach House for longer, 2 days in Binalong Bay is just not long enough".

  • "It was our first visit to Binalong Bay and I sincerely hope there will be many more. The view from the deck of the property is pretty special - especially enjoying it over local seafood and fine wine. The beach, accessed just over the road, is caster sugar fine; the sea a beautiful azure. The road that separates the (fully fenced) garden from the beach access has little traffic. We travelled as a family with small children and found the house very comfortable - thoughtfully renovated and conveniently located. It was easy for us all to relax there. The area seems to enjoy a microclimate - each day of our week long stay was consistently warmer than forecast. There was plenty to explore in the region on the odd occasion we could muster the energy away from the house and beach. I would happily recommend Bellevue to others - I know we will go back some day too. "

  • "Stayed at Xmas for 4 nights with 3 young children. Well appointed cosy house in a lovely locale overlooking Binnalong Bay. Puzzle making and chess, beachcombing and walks for the kids. Pizza oven worth the effort to make from scratch. We would not hesitate to return."

  • "My husband and I wanted to have a little honeymoon after our big day and decided to head north instead of over to the mainland or overseas and Belle Vue is a great location to get away for a few nights! We enjoyed our 5 night stay there very much, it had everything you needed (like a little home away from home). Lovely location to relax and we enjoyed the views of dolphins and whales just magnificent! Close to the Binalong Bay Cafe and only a short drive to St Helens. Lots of little places around to go fishing, to my surprise I realised how much I enjoy fishing (even better when I catch them). We recommend Belle Vue to anyone, we will be making a couple of trips each year seeing we live only 4 hours away Binalong Bay is a lovely location in Tasmania and Belle Vue made it even better. "

  • "A small but very comfortable beach cottage, recently renovated with excellent appointments, including a great view over the beach and the Bay of Fires. Close to the local cafe/restaurant (which we ate at). 10 Klms to St Helens supermarket, bakery, butcher, fishmarket and upmarket restaurant. Best for one or two couples. We would stay again & again. • "My wife and I spent a very relaxing 4 nights in October 2011 in this charming and very comfortable cottage. It is very well maintained inside and out. It has a spectacular view of the beach, lagoon, sea and coastline. The cottage is very tastefully furnished and has most modern comforts - including dishwaher, front loading washing machine, slow combustion heater, a quick and easy to use gas heater, electric blankets. When it was too warm we opened one of the French doors and the back door to get the cool sea breeze. There is a lovely timber deck at the fromt of the house with table and chairs to take advantage of the views. At the back is a spacious courtyard with table and chairs and an LPG gas BBQ which we used for the first two nights. We didn't use the wood-fired pizza oven. There's a large modern digital flatscreen TV but we spent most of our time when in the cottage reading whilst listening to the owners eclectic range of CDs. Watch the step up from the kitchen to the living area. The last two nights we dined at the local reataurant (Angasi?) which was a five minute walk away and the food, service and view there was excellent."

  • "This tassie shack is extremely well equiped, very comfortable and in a superb location, right across the road from the beach. We spent a week as a family together for a well needed winter getaway to recharge the batteries and we couldn't have chosen a better spot to do just this! Can't wait to visit Belle Vue again soon."

  • "We came to Tasmania for our honeymoon and it was perfect! We were sad to leave Cradle Mountain but once we arrived at Belle Vue Beach House this quickly faded. A beautiful house in a beautiful location. We had a wonderful time and have taken amazing memories. We are looking forward to coming back and sharing this special place with family."

  • "Delightful and well equipped beach house. Located across the road from the beach and five minutes walk to village store. The property is fully renovated and all fittings and furniture are of a very high standard. Good selection of DVDs and plenty of fire wood for the slow combustion heater. Owner communiations were always prompt and friendly. Would suit a group of up to six very well (two doubles and a twin). "

  • "Bellevue was just brilliant! We felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. Beautifully decorated, sensational views and so well equipped for our three night stay - which was by no means long enough! Thankyou Glenn and Jacqui for providing such a perfect place to holiday - we can't wait to return."
