Description
Enjoy the bushland setting of our 2.5 bedroom 'Cottonwood' eco cabin, sleeps 6. Master bedroom has Queen bed, 2nd bedroom has twin beds. Alcove has double folddown sofabed. Port a cot and highchair provided. Fully screened verandahs off living/dining area.
Well-equipped kitchen (gas stove top, microwave but no oven) for self-catering. Linen (optional) baggage service and exit clean included in price. Self catering is essential as there are no food outlets. As of April 2013 the Spa Island restaurant will operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Bikes are available for use (at own risk)
The Environment
Formerly part of Couran Cove Island Resort (renamed Ramada Couran Cove Island Resort in April 2013) situated on South Stradbroke Island - 20 mins by ferry or water taxi from Runaway Bay Marina this privately owned property still has the use of well cared for and maintained resort facilities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, sports centre, children's playground, laundry, shop, surf beach, and nature walks - all without the crowds. The resort is scheduled to reopen fully in October 2013.
This is an ideal environment for nature lovers as wallabies, goannas, bats and birds abound in the coastal scrub and the 22km long surf beach is pristine. The broad water side of the island hosts many kinds of marine creatures and birds.
Relax and enjoy nature from the comfort of the cabin.
Transport
Couran Cove ferry now leaves from Runaway Bay Marina, on the Gold Coast, approx 1 hours drive from Brisbane.
Return Ferry cost is $25per adult (15+ years), $12.50 per child (3 to 14 years)
Water taxi is available from Runaway Bay $80 one way for up to 8 passengers
