Description

This stunning new architecturally designed home at 14 Penguin Ave, Cowes, is nestled in tea trees in a secluded enclave only metres from the boardwalk to wonderful Red Rocks beach.

Relax and enjoy sweeping north-facing views over Red Rocks beach, Westernport Bay across to Flinders and as far east as Seal Rocks. Lie in bed in the morning and watch the ships go by. Soothe away the day in the ensuite set in trees.

Perfect for a weekend getaway or a sun-bleached summer holiday. Spend your days popping down to the beach, entertaining on the balconies or inside in the comfort of the air conditioning (not to mention the open fire and long walks in Winter).

Description

Netherwood is a two storey brand new home (finished Dec 08). Upstairs, facing north over the Bay, is a large living/dining area with Euro kitchen, LCD TV & fireplace, two entertainers balconies & BBQ, and the main queen bedroom, it's own balcony and a superb ensuite set in the trees (bath & shower).
There is a second living room downstairs with a TV/DVD, 3 bedrooms (queen/2 twins with trundles/2 bunks), a second bathroom and separate toilet and a fully fitted laundry including 2nd fridge. The twins/trundles can double as a king bed and the couch has a pull-out queen bed.
There is off-street, under cover parking for 3 cars.

The house easily sleeps 10. Should you need extra accommodation, also ask about Netherwood Studio when you book - separate private accommodation for two. This is a delightfully sunny, large studio with floor-ceiling doors that open onto a treed, secluded balcony. King bed (sheets provided), TV/DVD, aircon/heating, bathroom and kitchenette. It has its own separate entry as well as a door off the balcony into the main house. The cost is $100/night extra when the studio is booked with the house.

Local Attractions

Red Rocks beach is the most wonderful local attraction. A long golden beach divided into two sections by rusty red rocks. To the right is the shallower beach for younger families and to the left, the long deep water beach with magnificant swimming no matter what the tide.

Other local attractions include the Penguin Parade, Koala Sanctuary, Wildlife Park, Seal Rocks, V8 Supercars, and Churchchill Island. Cowes is only 5 mins by car.

Directions:
The house is at 14 Penguin Ave on the corner of Penguin Ave and Lynton Court. The driveway entrance is off Lynton Court.

Guest Reviews

  • "Just a short note to say we had a lovely time at the property; it was a perfect place for 3 couples, (+ a spare bedroom with 4 bunks) .. plenty of space, proximity to beach and restaurants and the area generally was excellent. Couches were extremely comfy ! House well stocked .. owner delightful and VERY accommodating as we required linen. "

  • "How can you be anything but relaxed with the sound of crashing waves and the swaying moonah trees all around? A group of 9 of us had one loooong dinner party here over the weekend. Between courses we popped over to the beach (1 min walk). House is simply and nicely furnished- super comfy couches in the loungeroom. Would recommend for any group wanting a generous space and a real escape."

  • "Property is very modern and nice and in a great location!!! Just one thing though, on the two nights that we we're there it was 43 degrees or above, the two air conditioning units was way too weak and it was extremely stuffy and hot. If it wasn't due to the extreme weather conditions, it would have been a delightful stay."
