Activities

Play golf at the nearby Lorne Country Club. This well groomed, challenging course is one of the more interesting 9 hole courses in Victoria, with absolutely the most spectacular views from the fairways and clubhouse. You might even see the occasional kangaroo or koala if you keep your eyes peeled. You can also hire the tennis courts at the Country Club to practice your dinks and topspin lobs. Go body surfing or take learn-to-surf lessons at the Loutit Bay beach opposite the shopping strip. Swim in the pool and bounce on the trampolines. Other activities are bushwalking, mini golf, skateboarding, mountainbiking, dirt-biking, lawn-bowling, and fishing.

Gourmet Delights

Lorne has an excellent range of cafes, hotels, bistros and restaurants to choose from. Grab a gourmet pizza from Pizza Pizza, a burger from Burger Burger or fish and chips from Salty Dog. Visit Qdos Art and Sculpture Gallery on the Allenvale Road for a meal with coffee or a chardonnay or two. Buy some oysters and grilling fish from the Pier Co-op and take it home for a BBQ dinner. For a more upmarket experience try Bistro C at the Cumberland, Kostas or Marks Restaurant all on Mountjoy Parade. If it's views you desire eat at The Country Club up on the hill, B Bar on the beach or the Pier (at the pier).
