Abbeys Retreat is so different from anything else on offer in the South West It is a fabulous stone and iron family home with two huge lounge areas ( one upstairs ) with the enormous kitchen / lounge dining area downstairs being over 100 sq m.
There is a fantastic open fire in the conversation pit which is so popular with all our guests. There's nothing like turning off the TV and sitting around the fire, with friends and family, telling stories or toasting marshmallows.
The upstairs lounge is airconditioned. Downstairs remains cool through summer with the thick stone walls. Fans in all the bedrooms.
The 10 acres is so quiet and peaceful, and with a dam on the property bird life is abundant. There's kookaburras, cockies, blue wrens, and so much more. Wildflowers abundant in Spring.

We (11 People) absolutely LOVED the house. Its character and secluded property really made us at home instantly.
If we ever plan on another holiday weekend down south, i will, without a doubt stay at abbeys retreat!
I was very surprised how close the house is to Yallingup and Dunsborough. Great location, great house, its a must stay!

Abbey's Retreat was the perfect accommodation! It had plenty of space, was on a quiet block and had excellent facilities. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a relaxing getaway. The rooms are styled beautifully and i loved the feel of this large house + property. I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you have a group of about 10 or so friends! Jane was very helpful and accommodating!

This is an outstanding property, one of our son's was married at Chandeliers just down the road and so convenient, we had 11 Adults and 5 Children, all the amenities are spot on, we all had space and didn't feel crowded. No waiting for toilets or bathrooms:) The kitchen facilities for catering our large family were more than adequate, from the very large stove, to the abundance of cook ware, dishes, glasses and cutlery we never ran out, and there's a dishwasher!!! All the beds are very comfortable, didn't need to bring anything extra, even enough coat hangers. As for the outside, it's just perfect, so much fun for us all, We spent our nights playing cards around the huge table that also fitted us all, and lots of lovely chats in the conversation pit round the fire. We will be telling all our friends and hope to return for another get away with our family, Thank you to the wonderful owners.

With our group of 16, 5 families, Abbeys Retreat was a perfect place to stay. We never felt crowded and the kids spent so much time exploring the outdoors that the adults had time to relax. Our family from Holland loved the country setting and enjoyed toasting marshmellows over the fire. Waking up to the sound of Kookaburras and seeing kangaroos so close was an added bonus. The bedrooms were perfect and the kids didn't want to leave. Overall a very cosy comfortable setting and the right amount of bathrooms and toilets for a big group. The kitchen was a delight to cook in and I loved the Emu picture and the other ornaments added to the cosy home feeling. Would highly recommend staying here and definitely want to come back and stay for longer.

This is truly a first class holiday destination for a big group.
The Abbey's Retreat property is perfectly set on a large block with so much living space you don't even realise you were living along side up to 15 of your closest friends.
The house is equipped to deal with a crowd with 3 large bathrooms, a massive kitchen with an industrial oven, large BBQ and all the entertaining space and equipment you need.
The highlight of the trip were the home cooked dinners that our group of 15 enjoyed around the candle lit dining table!
Many thanks to Jane for being very helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with.

We were a group of 16 - 5 families - and we all thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The house is so large and roomy that we never felt that we were 'on top of each other'. Fantastic outdoor areas were enjoyed morning & night with the addition of blue wrens & kookaburras. The house is situated right in the middle of wine country & with so many places to visit - we hardly had to travel far at all! Loved it and want to go back for a winter stay so we can use the beautiful fireplace!

Thank you Jane for letting us stay at such a gorgeous place! Our whole family enjoyed our lovely long weekend there. We loved the log fire and "conversation pit" and ate more toasted marshmallows than we needed to :-) Highly recommend this property in a setting which is close to so many lovely wineries, restaurants and breweries - or we enjoyed just chilling out in the lovely garden! Can't wait to return next year and will be recommending this lovely house to our family and friends.

A magical setting for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration! The house accommodated our entire family, children and grand children with husbands and partners, and great grand children. The living area is huge and provided room for everyone to relax. The grounds were fantastic for the children to play outdoor games. We had the perfect weekend retreat.
thank you so much for allowing us to visit.

Superb! Absolutely loved our stay. The pictures don't quite do the property justice and the house has a very warm yet incredibly open feel about it. Can't help but relax from the moment you enter. Location is great also with only a very short drive to some of the best wineries in the region. Will definitely return and have already started spreading the word to family and friends.

I would just like to thank you for the wonderful stay we had at "Abbeys Retreat" this weekend. Our family, friends and I all had a fantastic time, and were so pleased to be staying at such a beautiful home during the celebration of our son's wedding at Clairault Winery. We were all so pleasantly surprised, at how the house was so well presented and had such a welcoming and homely atmosphere. It certainly served us well and we shall look forward to being able to visit again one day. We have all left with very happy memories, and would like to convey our thanks.

Perfect getaway is all I can say. Went down with 10 friends, great wine & good food, it was the perfect setting & so close to everything (not that we left much) Can't wait to head down in the winter & get the big open fire going with a big glass of red. Such a homey feel to the place.
Thank you :)
