Aabys on the Riesling Trail offers travellers and guests a teriffic base to use whilst exploring the Clare Valley Wine Region.Visit historic towns of the Clare Valley (Mintaro,Blyth Auburn, Sevenhill, Watervale & Burra),or take the 60 minute drive to the Barossa Valley.

If you would like to bring a much loved pet with you please ask at the time of booking.

On arrival you will find a well stocked fridge & pantry cupboard. All linen is supplied.

THE TARIFF INCLUDES PROVISONS FOR A COOKED BREAKFAST

Out side is a shady yard which meanders down to the Hutt River, a winter flowing creek.

There are 2 bathrooms 1 with a bath & shower and the other has a walk in shower which makes it suitable for a guest in a wheel chair.

Heating and cooling are by way of log fire and reverse cycle airconditioning. In the garden you will find an undercover dining area and BBQ.

There is also a laundry.

The full kitchen enables guests to prepare their own meals when the decision is made to "stay in tonight"

Location: Overlooking the award winning Riesling Trail

The Riesling trail winds its way from Auburn in the south to Clare along a scenic pathway 27kms long. Along the way there are opportunities to visit wineries and lunch rooms. The easy gradients are favourable for riding your bike ( or one we arrange for you), taking your bub in the pusher or strolling.

Aabys is fortunate to be overlooking the Rielsing Trail, and also be a 800 metre walk to Salt n Vines, a great restaurann. The Riesling trail follows the former railway line as it makes its way along the rural eastern edge of the township of Clare

Local Attractions

Wineries, art galleries, a living maze, heritage towns showing beautiful stone work in much loved buildings and remnants of a by gone era, country pubs, a plethora of great restaurants, some in vineyards, and some on hill tops. Martindale Hall at Mintaro, all belong to the rich tapestry which is the famous Clare Valley.


Visit the studio of Murray Edwards at his gallery - Corella Hill at Watervale, Ian Roberts is the resident artist at the beautiful Medika Gallery in Blyth, where you can purchase professional quality art & craft.

Clare is acknowledged as a teriffic olive growing region and you will now find several olive oil sales outlets dotted around the valley, amongst them the award winning "Glendalough Estate" sales outlet, The Terrace Gallery at Armagh for olive oil & home made jams & sauces

Clare is home to R & J Soaps where you purchase hand crafted pure olive oil soap made with A grade olive oil and take the opportunity to talk to the people who hand craft the soaps. These soaps are promoted by dermatologists and doctors for people with sensitive skin and babies. An ideal gift to take home for the neighbours who have "minded the cat". An excellent opportunity to stock up for Christmas & birthdays

Garden lovers can also indulge their passion, in Mintaro you will find the fantastic waterwise garden "Timandra Garden, open every day. Alison Aplin designer and creator of this fantastic garden is a step ahead of many garden designers with her fantastic array of water wise plants. Timandra is a multi award winning garden.

At Sevenhill visit historic Sevenhill Cellars at St Aloyisius Catholic Church, where the wines are hand crafted by winemaker Lizzie Heidenreich who also travels to Portugal to make wine for Sir Cliff Richard,you may be able to make arrangements to see Walter Duncans magnificent rose garden, if not from the inside certainly from the road on the Scenic Route.

Another interesting garden at Mintaro is the Mintaro Maze where you can test your skills at finding your way out.......dont follow the dog, I did presuming for him it would be a "well trod path"....I thought I was doing very nicely until he ducked under the hedge!!

New to Mintaro - The Tin Shed where you will be able to purchase locally made arts & crafts. visiting craftspeople will be a special feature at the "Tin Shed"
