Description

Hawthorn House is conveniently located in the Launceston suburb of Invermay. It is a short walk or ride to many venues. Aurora Stadium, the home of The Hawks when in Tassie, is 2 blocks away. The Seaport area contains a boardwalk along the Tamar River and a variety of cafes and restaurants with car parking. The Aquatic Centre is a fun family affair where you can swim or sit and keep an eye on your children. Pools have beach entry. A licensed restaurant is on site or use the cafe poolside for lighter meals, ice cream, lovely hot chips and hot and cold drinks. The City Park provides an area for children to let off steam and use up that energy at the playground which has a BBQ area too. In February the City Park hosts Festivale, a celebration of Tasmanian food and drink, and Symphony Under the Stars. This is a wonderful free evening when the TSO provide a lively venue of music to suit everyone. Bring a rug, your hamper and your favourite beverage sit back and enjoy the night. Churchill Park/Heritage Forest is a large area nearby where you can take a pleasant walk and end up at the children's play area and BBQ's are undercover.

The Inveresk Precinct is just past Aurora Stadium and houses the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, University of Tasmania Arts Academy, The Tramshed, cafes, off street parking and a Sunday Market at the Forster Street end. Hawthorn House also provides easy access to public transport, The Gorge, cricket centre, tennis centre, the National Automobile Museum and Launceston's CBD.

  • "Hawthorn House was beutifully presented and contained all of the homely touches and space you wouldn't otherwise get in generic hotel accomodation. It was extremely child friendly and all within a short walk of the city centre. We absolutely loved it."

  • "Wow what a beautiful house. Lorraine made us feel so welcome. It was so nice not to have to go & do a shop on arrival as Lorraine has it all there waiting for us. Great location, close to everything and easy to find. Recommend it to everyone "

  • "Hawthorn House was such a beautiful and welcoming place to stay. We loved all the little extras (the kids ate all the Tiny Teddies biscuits!). The huge back yard with swings was also a hit and our little girl loved the toys and books. Thanks Lorraine for such a lovely home away from home :-)"

  • "This house is absolute amazing. The owners have thought of everything. The house is elegant, warm, spotlessly clean and so amazingly well-appointed. There are umbrellas and cling wrap - extra blankets - toys etc! I cannot recommend this house highly enough. Thank you for making a stay with my wider family so enjoyable."

  • "The house was absolutely immaculate with EVERYTHING you could possibly need. The attention to detail was so impressive - everything from condiments to a hairdryer. The location is very central to all major attractions in Launceston and the information provided (eateries etc) was very much appreciated. Our party of 7 thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. We'll be back!!"
