  • "We are an aged couple and found this modest, but comfortably snug cottage, just the place to put down anchor in the cool evenings after exploring the wider historical and picturesque area of the Tweed Valley during the day-time. We only spent a weekend there (3 nights) and while we managed to drive around and see some wonderful countryside, we felt we would have enjoyed a few more days there in the village to enjoy a back to basics warm & friendly lifestyle we miss from the past. The friendly landlady lives next door to answer questions and I enjoyed reading her interesting historical research of the 126 year old former Church cottage. Spotlessly clean & well appointed; comphy bed & lovely old furniture. Reasonable accommodation value. You can't put a price on old fashioned country friendliness so absent from city living these days ... This was a big plus. Hope this helps."
