Altamont House is an upmarket boutique accommodation situated on the city fringe of Hobart, owned and run by the Terry family, who pride themselves on offering a welcoming and unique experience in one of Hobart’s most beautiful and historic homes.

Altamont Houses caters for singles, couples and small groups.

THE LUXURY ROOM (for singles and couples)
Ideally suited for the busy executive or couples, the Luxury Room is Altamont House’s signature suite. The Luxury Room features a queen size bed, accompanied by contemporary bed side lamps. A modern writing desk is complemented by a Hans Wegner designed wishbone chair. A french reading chair and stool, artworks by local Tasmanian artists and stylish built in wardrobes complete the room.


THE CLASSIC ROOM (for 1 or 2 additional guests)
The Classic Room feature timeless antique furniture, including a luxurious double bed, writing desk and chair, a full length mirror and a personal dresser. The room is highlighted by an antique colonial settee and once again features artwork by local Tasmanian artists. comprises of a generous lounge/dining room and a large luxury double bedroom. An additional double bedroom is available when there are more than two guests.

THE COAL STORE
The bathroom is a luxurious experience in a converted old coal storage room. Sandstone walls reflected by soft lighting create a relaxing atmosphere as you soak your cares away in the free standing tub.

You will be able to enjoy your breakfast on your own sunny private verandah.

ABOUT ALTAMONT HOUSE

Altamont House constructed in 1854, is an early three storey colonial house constructed primarily in sandstone. The house is currently heritage listed.

The top two storeys are occupied by your hosts, the Terry Family.

The ground storey with separate access and separate parking facilities has been converted into luxury boutique accommodation.

Altamont House is conveniently located 15 minutes walking distance from the CBD, 20 minutes walking distance to the Hobart Waterfront and Historic Salamanca precinct, 10 minutes from the North Hobart restaurant strip and twenty minutes drive from the Hobart Airport.

It is also ideally placed as a starting point for day car trips to Mount Wellington, the Huon Valley or historic Richmond.

PRICING

LUXURY SUITE (FOR ONE OR TWO PERSONS):

$180.00 per night
$1,200 per week

CLASSIC ROOM (WHEN A SECOND ROOM IS REQUIRED)

$60 per additional person per night
$400 per additional person per week


Young Children (0-4) can stay free if sharing the luxury suite with an adult(s) and separate bedding is available on request.

Children requiring separate accommodation can be accommodated in the Classic Room at the normal nightly rate.

All rates are quoted in Australian dollars and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax.

These rates are inclusive of accommodation, a complimentary continental breakfast and off-street parking.

We accept ViSA, Mastercard and American Express Credit Cards.

Rooms to sleep up to 2 occupants only (except in the case of young children sharing with adult(s).

All rooms are non-smoking.

Check in time of 2:00 pm and check out time of 10:00 am. (Different times are available on request, subject to requirements)
