Description

Luxurious, new designer cottage set in the grounds of Mt White House on 50 acres featuring contemporary open architecture. A private pavilion, garden and pool area separates the Cottage from Mt White House. The spectacular entertaining pavilion overlooks the glass edge pool with 180 degree views for miles over the Hawkesbury River and mountains beyond. The two bedrooms each have an ensuite and queen size beds plus there is an additional queen sofa bed in the living room. There is flat screen TV in the lounge room and a gas flame fire for ambience during the winter months. The cottage is elegantly furnished with open plan living, bamboo floors and carpet in the bedrooms. The gourmet kitchen features state of the art new appliances and Caesarstone benchtops.

This Cottage has an exceptionally high standard of finish, with multiple folding doors that create an open ambiance between indoor and outdoor living. It has been created by one of Sydneys leading designers.

Basic kitchen provisions, milk, coffee, bread, cerials etc are provided plus a complementary bottle of wine on arrival.

Due to the terrain - on a bluff over looking the river with steep hillsides below - we admit no children under 15 years old. Please no stiletto heels or hot/cold drinks on the antiques!

Optional astronomy is available at extra cost with an experienced Sky Guide and a telescope about twice the light gathering of Sydney Observatory.

Guest Reviews

  • "What can I say? This was one of the most brilliant places I have ever stayed at in my life. I was hoping for somewhere peaceful and relaxing and the cottage more than exceeded my expectations. The views are to die for. We were welcomed by the neighbours' parrots, which will try and land on you, but can be gently discouraged! In the evenings the macaws would give us a bird show. Each morning the mist covered the Hawkesbury River and it was magical seeing it lift. The Cottage itself is wonderfully laid out and equipped. Take lots of gourmet food and wine, and just sit back and relax. An hour from Sydney (if you don't go in peak hour)and yet it feels like you have totally escaped the city grind. This is for you if you want a peaceful time with sublime views. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I shall return!!"

  • "What a superb slice of heaven so close to Sydney. Easy to forget the cares of the world and the hustle & bustle. Idyllic bush & river views. Nice and quiet. Beautifully designed and decorated cottage. Would love to experience that great pool in the summer! Friendly & accommodating hosts, thanks for sharing such a wonderful corner of the world with us"

  • "The Cottage at Mt White House is the PERFECT weekend escape. Just an easy hour drive from Sydney, it is not only convenient but idyllic. We were fortunate to experience the stunning mist floating over the Hawkesbury River, amid the range, first thing in the morning. What a way to wake up! The cottage itself is beautifully finished with views through the floor to ceiling glass doors in the two large bedrooms. And not to mention the pavilion and pool - stunning. We can't wait to return!"

  • "Such a beautiful house and setting, the views are amazing. Its such a relaxing and peaceful spot and so easy to get to for a break from the city. The house itself is lovely, beautifully decorated and has everything you need. Would definitely recommend it, hopefully we'll get to stay there again come summer. Would also recommend if your only there for a short time that you pick up food and anything else you might need during your stay on the way there, as the nearest place to get anything is about a 20min drive. • "We felt very priviledged to be able to stay in such a wonderful enviroment. It is outstanding to find a place less than an hours drive from central Sydney where you can totally relax and forget about the world for a few days. The cottage is comfortable and it is great to wake to early morning sun coming in the window and looking out at the veiws of the Hawkesbury River. We will definitely be returning and highly recomend it to others."
