On arrival, breathe in the fresh country air, allow your senses to take in a magnificantly crafted mud brick studio. Put on the kettle and enjoy some locally roasted organic coffee, or pour a glass of local wine and let yourself unwind.

Depending on the time of day drink in the natural light as it streams through the windows or gaze up to the thousands of stars that dance in the night skies.

The Mud brick studio is a place to relax. Whether you have brought the kids, the pets or just yourselves we think you will find The Mud House a blissful retreat.

Featuring a spacious bedroom with a queen size bed, seperate bathroom, and large living space The Mud House has been designed and furnished to capture the beauty of its natural setting.

Enjoy the warmth of a boutique Danish wood fire, comfortable couches and a small library.

Local hand made soap provided.

You are welcome to head down and visit our chooks, and two pet lambs (now sheep) Sam and Lulu. Collect half a dozen eggs to take home with you. ###Sadly due to drought and lots of rain we have had to relocate our sheep to rejuvenate our paddock for a little while###

We are Gay and lesbian friendly.

We are situated 4.5 kms from Castlemaine, a thriving regional town.

We are committed to being environmentally aware, and provide a home spun vegetarian's guide to castlemaine on request.

Cooking appliances include a mini oven which roasts, toasts, grills and bakes and is perfect for pizza; electric wok, electric cook top, toaster and kettle. The wood fire is perfect to heat up soup in winter.

Undercover parking available.

Ipod docking station, DVD player but no t.v reception yet!

Sofa bed available as a second bed on request. Also a porta cot and high chair if required.

check in 2pm (earlier on request if possible)
check out midday (later if possible).

Animals are welcome inside. Please bring your pet's bed. Please also note that there is no specific dog fenced area.
