Luxurious and romantic

The cottage is in a beautiful part of Blackheath, originally known as 'Paradise'. Very quiet and tranquil, with amazingly fresh air, and just a hint of a fireplace smoke. Perfect for enjoying a glass of good wine in front of the fire, or on the verandah.
For nature lovers, the long walk through the Porters Pass is a must. It is quite wild and you will see a 'Jurassic Park' like scenery. Bring your walking shoes.
After the long walk, you can relax perfectly in the spa-therapeutic, strong, continuously heated and big enough for a couple.
The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher. We kept the old 'coal range' stove, installed the butlers sink and stone bench top, to add to the charm, you will find it very modern and easy to cook up a storm. There are great mountain views from the kitchen window. Alternatively, good restaurants and cafes are just a 15 minutes walk away.

  • "What a perfect location and cottage to celebrate the Christmas 2011 holiday weekend, which we shared with another couple. Thanks to the beautifully presented, spotlessly clean cottage, numerous 'extras' provided by a very thoughtful owner, Alleyne, and peaceful surroundings, we returned home feeling relaxed and refreshed. The accommodation is perfect for two couples to enjoy each others company, but also have ample space for each couple to have their own privacy if wanted. We definitely intend to return to Lily of the Valley Cottage and have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Thank you Alleyne for your thoughtfulness with all the special touches you add."

  • "We had the perfect two day stay, the first time away from our babies in over two years so a much needed break! It was perfect - the moment we walked in to find a log fire burning, carafe of port and chocolates waiting, and lots of goodies in the fridge we knew we weren't going far from the cottage! We did manage a couple of walks right on our doorstep, and it was lovely to come back to such a welcoming home - it really felt like one of our relatives had just left us the place for the couple of days! Perfect for a peaceful getaway in the mountains."

  • "Having stayed in many homes in the Blue Mountains over the years, this is definitely one of the most well appointed and comfortable homes available. We arrived in the evening and on entering the cottage it was warm, cosy and the fire was roaring. The delicious breakfast provisions, cookies and wine provided, are a lovely addition to a weekend away that you just don't expect. Alleyne, the owner, is one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet - we had several changes to our booking due to a serious leg injury and she was so accommodating and compassionate. Lily of the Valley is highly recommended and we can't wait to go back, this time for a much longer stay."

  • "We had a lovely stay in Lily of the Valley cottage in Blackheath. It was freezing outside but, when we weren't out horse riding or bush walking, we were tucked up, cosy and warm in the cottage in front of a log fire. This is truly one of the most generously appointed Blue Mountains cottages we've stayed in - lovely kitchen and bathrooms, electric blankets, good selection of DVDs and games, plenty of homely touches, plenty of firewood, sherry and `Christmas in July' treats, bottle of wine, generous breakfast provided for the first morning but easily kept us going for our three day stay! The owners really care about this place and it shows."

  • "What a fabulous place to rest, rewind and enjoy the beautiful ambiance of this lovely cottage! We spent three lovely days here and can't wait to return.Alleyne, the thoughtful owner catered to our every need, including lots of home cooked goodies for a Yule-tide feast and a very generously stocked fridge and pantry. We left some items behind and Alleyne and Richard went to the trouble of dropping them at our home!We have stayed at several homes with Stayz, all of which have been good, but this brief holiday was the best ever as we felt so welcomed! Can't recommend Lily of the Valley highly enough!"

  • "Wonderfully romantic little cottage, my partner and wished we had stayed an entire week. Arrived to a lovely warm fire, wine and port, biscuits, freshbread and a homemade christmas pudding. Absolutely loved our stay, we highly recommend!"

  • "I recently spent two nights at Lily of the Valley with my mother. Alleyne, the owner goes out of her way to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one - sumptious breakfast supplies, wine, port, chocolate, biscuits and a roaring fire place are just some of the treats at Lily of the Valley. Located in a quiet street close to walking tracks Lily of the Valley is a great place to stay when visiting the Blue Mountains. Highly recommended. "

  • "Beautiful, cosy and exceptionally well-appointed cottage with a beautiful garden in a picturesque mountain setting. There were many nice touches - like a breakfast-ready fridge and pantry, fresh bread, home made biscuits, a bottle of wine and a slow combustion fire ticking over when we arrived - with a decanter of port and a couple of glasses handy. Nearby - several walking tracks and a village with several places for dinner if you don't want to cook (including two good and one very good restaurant). Perfect for a quiet week or weekend in the fresh mountain air."

  • "This is a beautiful place to stay, so comfortable, so quiet & restful. The garden is a delight. Thoughtfulness is displayed at every turn in this dear cottage - A well stocked fridge, breakfast hamper, fresh bread, jams, eggs etc etc. In our week we enjoyed sunny days, misty days & nights and some chill even in Dec/January - all was wonderful. Thank you. This is highly recommended."

  • "A thoroughly charming cottage. We had a lovely stay. The attention to detail was mind blowing everywhere I looked the owner had left a little surprise to make you feel at home and welcome. The chocolate and port, the bottle of wine, the basket with fresh bread and other goodies, the fruit bowl, the Christmas cake, the stocked fridge, etc, etc. I have never stayed in a place like this and will certainly visit again."
