We are proud to announce that Mary Valley Vista has recently achieved Advanced Ecotourism Certification through Ecotourism Australia. We are also the first accommodation on the Sunshine Coast to be certified.

For all the nature enthusiasts, there is an adundance of wildlife. On those balmy nights sitting outside, the frogs are particularly vocal after some recent rains. Bird lovers will see a wide variety of species including the Channel Billed cuckoo, Spangled Drongo and Pheasant Coucals.

Nestled amongst 62 acres of bush and pasture near the township of Kenilworth, is the perfect eco cabin for your romantic getaway or family retreat. Come and experience sustainable living and enjoy total peace and privacy. Take a bush walk to Obi Obi creek or to the lookout where you can enjoy fabulous views of the surrounding valley. Afterwards, sit and relax at the bush bar and listen to the water feature cascading into the frog pond. The Mary Valley is located in the picturesque Sunshine Coast hinterland of South East Queensland and central to many other holiday attractions.

Features

The renovated eco cabin comfortably sleeps 4 people and in every step of its transformation, the emphasis has been to minimise harm to the environment, from recycling materials to using eco paint. As an existing dwelling, it had a sound basis for a solar passive design so provided a good starting point for creating environmentally friendly guest accommodation. All your energy needs are sourced with solar and gas, and the majority of waste is managed onsite.
A particularly unique feature of Mary Valley Vista is Nest Box Cam, where you can watch the activities of one of the many nest boxes installed around the property for hollow dependent fauna. An infra red camera captures live footage inside the nest box which is then transmitted to a TV monitor inside the cabin. Squirrel gliders are regular visitors to the nest boxes.
You can enjoy a walk to Obi Obi creek where you might spot the resident platypus, or a walk to the lookout where fabulous views of the surrounding valley are enjoyed. There is an extensive range of reading material and board games for entertainment, or satellite TV, DVD/CD is available. There are plenty of spots to sit and soak in the atmosphere. A variety of outdoor seating is available depending on your mood; hammock, bar stools, lounge or outdoor setting. There is something for everyone.
A frog pond with a waterfall is a focal point outside the cabin that attracts an abundance of wildlife such as frogs, birds, dragonflies, butterflies, and so on. A water feature such as this where the water appears to be flowing towards the front door is said to bring fortune to those within, according to Feng Shui design. The overall design and furnishing of the cabin has been carefully chosen to create an harmonious environment for our guests.
