Gilgens Country River Retreat

Description

Gilgens cottage is fully self contained - a home away from home- sleeps up to 8 people and has magic views looking over the river. Watch the sunrise and set over the water and the full moon shining on the river making a spectacular sight.

You can rest in quiet comfort or if you prefer bring your friends and get active. Go skiing or fishing. There is a boat ramp at Hogwash Bend, a beautiful sandbar area 5 kms away. Have a round of golf on the magnificent Waikerie Golf Course a ten minute drive away. You and your pets can walk amongst the mallee along the clifftop and view the flora and fauna.

If you want to do the tourist drives the Riverland, Clare Valley and Barossa Valley are all a day trip from Gilgens. Waikerie and Morgan are just over 15 kms away.

We have a camp oven area and if you want we can cook this for you under the stars if you don\'t want to do it yourself.

Children are welcome by arrangement. It is a great spot for kids but there is a steep cliff drop to the water and children need to be strictly supervised.

On arrival you will receive a complimentary bottle of wine, continental breakfast provisions including a freshly baked loaf of bread, and a port to have after dinner.

Come and visit us and enjoy Gilgens cottage nestled amongst 6 acres of orange trees and overlooking the mighty Murray (no close neighbours). As we are between Lock 1 and 2 we always have plenty of water in the river.
