Description

The Holmwood Marlow House is situated on three blocks of sloping garden with a spectacular view over Lucien flats that flow into the undulating country side. Built in 1895 on the eastern edge of town this stunning house resembles an old Queenslander, raised by a blue stone wall, with wide verandahs, unusual lattice work and outdoor timber shutters.
With an abundance of wide open spaces, outdoor and indoor this house is designed for relaxing peacefully, or sharing time with friends.
In addition to spending time in such superb surroundings the town of Canowindra and the local region have many more wonderful experiences, tastes and sights to explore.
The small historical town of Canowindra is located in the Central west approximately four hours drive from Sydney through the Blue Mountains and Bathurst way. Around three and a half hours drive from Canberra. Approximately 33km north of Cowra and 56km South west of Orange. The town and its region have been likened to ‘Umbria of Italy’ the undiscovered district of wonderment.

So what can I do in Canowindra?

•Just simply relax, read, cook. –Catering available on request.
•Wonder down town Canowindra where you will find the historical bendy main Street with stores, dining, galleries, pubs and a museum well worth a look.
•Taste some local wine: For some years now the wine world has been envious of the Canowindra / Cowra region for consistently producing top grade wines that continue to win some of the most prestigious awards. It’s a must do to visit at least one of the many local cellar doors.
•Other interesting sites in the nearby region include the Japanese Gardens in Cowra, the Cowra Prisoner of War Camp site. The Lachlan Valley railway. The Derby Falls observatory. The Parkes observatory.
