Description
The first house in the area built in the 1920s.Fully renovated and landscaped throughout. The Homestead has polished baltic pine and hardwood floors, 2 bathrooms, 2 living areas, washing machine, 2 tvs, dvd and stereo. There are 5 bedrooms; 4 queens and 8 singles. There is also a bungalow with a queen size bed and power( The Love Shack) . Fully equipped kitchen with microwave, 2 fridges and barbecue area with outdoor eating area. Huge verandah, with el fresco dinning area and spectacular views to Bass Strait and Westernport Bay. 100 metres to sensational beach. Large fire place (with an abundant supply of wood), gas heater and other heaters for each room. Electric blankets on most beds. Outside shower with hot water for the post beach rinse down. Full of character and space to move. No schoolies please. For weekend booking, may arrive anytime Friday and depart anytime Sunday. Similar house available if booked out.
Below is a response to a weekend enquiry any time of the year:
The house has been running as a short term accommodation house since 1999.
Since that time the house usually takes 50+ bookings a year and is one of
the most popular holiday houses on Phillip Island. The house has views to
the north of Westernport Bay and to the south and east of Bass Strait. It
is a 150 metre walk to the steps that take you down to the beach.
The house really speaks for itself and is character personified. The house
and gardens are large enough for guests to find there own space or,
alternatively, get together in one area to enjoy each others company. We
are yet to have a disappointed guest.
The bedrooms are setup as follows:
1 double and single
2 queen and single
3 queen and single
4 set of bunks
5 double, single and set of bunks
bungalow - queen
There is also one high chair and two cots.
All sundry items such as tea, coffee, toilet paper, soap, tea towels, hand
towels, bath mats etc. are provided.
We don't believe in check out times so you could arrive anytime on the
Friday and depart anytime on the Sunday.
The tariff for a weekend would be $900.00 without linen which includes
the bungalow. For an extra flat rate of $200.00 all thirteen beds would
have linen supplied and would be made up before your arrival. Towels would
also be provided for each person staying.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other queries or would

Ps We don't know a polite way of asking this but obviously we try to
filter/screen potential guests. We have had a few weekends when the house
has not been left in a reasonable state. It would be great if you could give us an idea if there a reason for your weekend away. 21st birthdays, schoolies, pyromaniac
getaways, bucks nights, bomb making workshops etc are not encouraged.
Basically we need a guarantee that the house will be looked after and left
in a reasonable state.
Surf Beach, Phillip Island
Situated at the narrowest point of Phillip Island, on the top of the hill at Surf Beach. This position creates views to the North of Swan Bay and Westernport Bay. Views to the East and South of Cape Woolamai, Bass Strait and Pyramid Rock.
House is set on 3 huge blocks and there is one vacant block between the property and the coastal reserve. There are steps down to Surf Beach about 100 meters down the road. Once there, you can walk 6km to Cape Woolamai in one direction and 2km to Sunderland bay in the other.
Surf Beach general store/cafe is 300 metres down the road.
No schoolies please.
