If you are seeking a destination within easy driving distance of Sydney , Newcastle or the Central Coast then it is worth considering Noonameena. This 23 acre property has a large country home set back 500 metres from Main Creek Road so privacy and seclusion are assured. The eastern boundary is the magical Carowiry creek that extends the length of Main Creek valley before entering the Williams river at Fosterton. Bird life and rainforest vegetation makes the creek area an enticing area to bush walk. Tracks lead guests to the cool, peaceful creek
far from the city rush and bustle. Close by are some pleasant forest drives with easy access to the Barrington Tops National Park.
The home boasts five bedrooms (3 with queen sized beds and the other two have one single in each) There is an extremely comfortable Moran day /night divan in the additional northern living room should an extra bed be required; two of the queen sized rooms also have craftsman built toddlers beds suitable for small children. Porta cots available on request.
An open plan kitchen and living area is at the southern end of the house plus a dedicated dining room. Two separate toilets, large bathroom with shower and bath and a feature outside shower (with hot water of course!) One of the best features of Noonameena is the spacious verandahs on all sides and additionally a huge deck on the eastern side of the house with great views to the Black Bulga range. The children can play outside whatever the weather may be or when there are adult groups one can readily seek a private spot to read or enjoy a cuppa or a glass of wine.
There is mobile range at Noonameena (with the exception of Voda phone), a TV, DVD, electric stove, gas BBQ, coffee plunger, coffee percolator, maxi sandwich press,
The small rural town of Dungog is just 11 kms away (bitumen road) with quality eateries, the almost famous James Theatre and a short drive across to East Gresford can see guests tasting the spectacular wines from Camyr Allyn Winery. Topline Park adjoins Noonameena but it is suggested that you book in advance should you wish to go horse riding.
Ros and Kevin Runciman, owners of Noonameena, also operate the well known nature based tourism accommodation business, Yeranda at Barrington Tops. Yeranda is 5 kms further up the valley and walking tracks on the 140 acre property are for the use of Noonameena guests as well. More information on Yeranda can be sourced from
Those staying at Noonameena can expect to see plenty of red necked wallabies and eastern grey kangaroos along with soaring wedge tailed eagles whilst along the creek many small bird species are present. Open farm land gives the opportunity to see many bird species which are never seen at Yeranda despite it only being 5 kms away!
