Mountainside Nature Retreat

Description

Mountainside is only a short drive from the picturesque rural township of Deloraine, Liffey Falls, the Central Plateau Lakes, Meander Falls and only 55 minutes drive from either Launceston or Devonport. Mountainside is perfectly located as a base to explore Tasmania's north.

You can climb a mountain, walk along a waterfall or simply relax and experience the peacefulness of beautiful sunrises and sunsets from a secluded mountain retreat. Experience rugged mountain wilderness, enjoy the birdlife and keep watch for the native wildlife emerging from the bush at dusk and early evening. Have a bush barbeque and enjoy the great outdoors with family and friends.

Facilities

Five self contained cabins provide comfortable, cosy and affordable accommodation with something for everyone - doubles, large families, small families and groups. Cabins have wood fire and/or electric heating, all have comfortable beds, warm blankets and kitchen facilities. Mountainside also offers a large function complex with an open fire place, commercial size kitchen, seating and eating utensils for 50 people, fabulous views and a heated dormitory, shower and bathroom facilities on the lower level. BBQ, tabletennis and guest laundry are available.

Cabin Descriptions

Kangaroo - large family cabin with a wood fire combustion heater, bath tub, queen, single, 2 bunks, futon, cot (up to six people), good kitchen facilities.

Bandicoot - family cabin, electric heating, double, single, 4 bunks (up to seven people), basic kitchen facilities.

Wallaby - small family cabin with open fire place, deck, bath tub, queen, single, futon (up to four people), good kitchen facilities.

Quoll - small cabin with polished floor, thermostat heater, porch, queen bed (up to two people), good kitchen facilities.

Wombat - bunk house, electric heating, 8 bunks (up to eight people), basic kitchen facilities.

Dormitory - only available in connection with hire of function complex, electric heating, 12 bunks (up to 12 people).

Function complex - open fire, commercial kitchen, (caters for 50 people).
