Guest Reviews

  • "Fantastic location, and a clean and spacious property overall. However, it requires some fundamental work to plumbing in the bathroom (water flow and hot water availability) and basic kitchen modernisation to make it the really attractive holiday property it could relatively easily become."
    Danny and Sharon, November 2008

  • "We liked the house but there were several things that annoyed us.The house had not been restocked so there was no dishwashing liquid and no dishwasher powder. There was no laundry powder either and we had been asked to wash the linen before leaving. I did ring the land lord about this and he tried to say it was self catering but I would expect it to be stocked at the beginning of the stay and then we would have replaced what was necessary as we did with the toilet paper. We were coming from NZ and didn't we would need to bring basic supplies with us. The cold tap over the handbasin was dripping and impossible to turn off. The mats on the wooden floors were old and dirty slippery hazard. We were also kept waiting outside the house for 3/4 hour for the key despite him knowing our arrival time well in advance and confirming this by cell phone on our arrival at the airport. We had my 76 year old mother-in-law with us. It would have been better to have waited at the airport for longer. His wife who had a young baby in tow was very apologetic but I don't think it was her fault but his. The house was very convenient to Newtown and the university which we wanted. "

  • "Excellent position, close to public transport but parking is a hassle if you come by car. Large rooms and nicely furnished but kitchen facilities are very basic."

  • "Dear Brian, Hope you are fine and that you remember me and my wife, Elke. We stayed in Hollis Terrace last September and enjoyed it very much. We will be back to Sydney upcoming September and would very much like to rent Hollice Terrace again. Looking forward to staying at Hollis Terrace again. Best regards Werner Delfmann "

  • "Dear Brian Just to let you know that we had a great two weeks in the Hollis Terrace house. It is a beautiful house in a fantastic location. Cheers Maureen"

  • "Description was a bit misleading. Linen supplied was musky and we had to put the dooner covers on the stained dooners ourselves. The open fireplace was NOT TO BE USED according to the sign. The refrigerator wasn't clean, the 'entertainment area' outside was not set up for entertaining nor was the small kitchen/laundry set up. We decided to eat out every meal. We were asked to strip the beds and wash the linen and towels before leaving which was fine but there was no detergent. On the up side, the beds were comfortable and the house is in a great area although parking is near impossible unless you have a permit. We really felt like we were house-sitting not holidaying. If you don't expect much you won't be disappointed."
