BEDROCK is a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom architecturally designed home. The downstairs room is styled as a self-contained apartment that includes a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, TV with DVD player and living area.
The home was designed to maximise the tropical breezes and views to the reef and islands. It emphasises the tropical indoor/outdoor Cairns lifestyle and provides a very relaxing experience.
Elevated into the coastal ranges, the breezes keep the house cool, but split system air-conditioning in all bedrooms and living areas can make it a little cooler for those who like it so.
The freshwater pool with views to Double Island and the Scout Hut is a fantastic alternative to the beaches or for that quick afternoon dip. A poolside deck adds the option of entertaining by the pool as well.
Glass bi-fold doors run the length of the front of the house and open up to blur the division of the outdoors and inside and the front balcony can make you a part of the beautiful scenery.
The views are available from all bedrooms, including the downstairs apartment, but when the bi-fold doors are closed, roman blinds can be lowered to ensure privacy.
The Miele appointed kitchen with gas cooktop makes preparing food a breeze for those who still enjoy cooking on holidays. You can prepare and enjoy meals whilst looking out at the coastline and islands.
For those days when it does rain, the remote controlled gate at the street and remote garage entry ensure that you don't have to leave the car until you are inside the house. Once inside, the generous rear balcony provides an entertaining or recreational area protected from the wind and rain.
For designated lazy days staying at Bedrock, there are TV's with DVD players both upstairs and downstairs so adults and children can both watch their favourite programmes. The sound system upstairs also has iPod/MP3 player connectivity.
You are only a 3 minute drive to the heart of Palm Cove and its restaurants and bars, or it is a very leisurely 15 minute walk. Perfect for an evening meal or nightcap with a peaceful stroll home.
BEDROCK is perfect for a family holiday, but can be configured for a more intimate getaway. Come up and experience this beautiful home and location for yourself; you won't be disappointed!
Nearby Attractions
BEDROCK is only minutes from Palm Cove, which has some world renowned restaurants and bars. 'Nu Nu's' is frequently acclaimed by the media for their food, wine list and service.
Other restaurants and bars definitely worthy of a visit include 'Vivo's,' 'Reef House,' 'Colonies,' and 'Choc Dee Thai.' Most restaurants serve food all day including breakfast.
For a more informal venue try 'Apres Beach Bar' or the 'Palm Cove Tavern.'
Palm Cove is also an launch point for the Great Barrier Reef.
30 minutes drive to the north of Palm Cove is Port Douglas, with its shopping, restaurants and local cultural activities. Further north is the heritage listed Daintree Rainforest, with Cape Tribulation.
10 minutes south of the house is Cairns Sky Rail where you can take a gondola above the rainforest and then explore the markets and cultural attractions of Kuranda village in the hills. At the same location is Tjabukai aboriginal park, displaying aboriginal culture and history.
Next door is the Cairns Cable Ski Park for the more adventurous providing wake boarding, water skiing and knee boarding. Lessons are available for those wanting to learn.
Throughout Palm cove and Cairns there are many tourist kiosks with more information about all the activities Cairns and Palm Cove has to offer.
Sleeping Arrangements
The main upstairs bedroom with en-suite has a queen bed.
The other upstairs bedrooms have queen beds.
The self contained apartment style bedroom downstairs has a king bed that can be split into two singles and a double bed
We can supply roll-away beds to accommodate more guests in the property if required for an additional $25 per week.
Any guests in excess of 8 will incur a $25/night surcharge per additional person.
