What to do.

As 'Tipaminka' is over 100 acres of rolling country property, it is great for a long bush walk, no need to go off the property if you do not want to. Bring your mountain bike,( not motor ) or horses, there is plenty of space. Want to go to town for a look or pick up some provisions, Cessnock is just 10 minutes away, the Pokolbin vineyards & restaurants just 15 to 20 minutes away, so as you can see there is no shortage of 'what to do'
In the mornings & evenings kangaroos can always be seen grazing in our front paddocks. See if you can spot our resident 'old man' wombat, he is always around somewhere. 'Tipaminka' has amazing birdlife, parrots, quails and magnificent bower birds, always something to be seen. On the top of our hill 'baldy knob' the views go forever, you can take a picnic up there and relax some more.
We are the former owners of the well known 'Wine Country Cafe' at the Pokolbin Tourist Information Centre so we can organize any gourmet meals you may require, all you have to do is ask.

  • "We had a wonderful time at Tipaminka! The location was perfect- close enough to town but really away from it all, nestled in the trees. It's the perfect place for a quiet week-end get away. Every thing we could have asked for and more."

  • "This place is perfect for a romantic, quiet get away. Lots of peace and quiet (oh, except for birdsong and frogs) and fantastic views when sitting on the veranda in the evening. All mod cons meant that we had absolutely everything we needed. The house itself is beautifcully presented, and situated in a wonderful position (which feels like the middle of nowhere, except it is very easy to get to, and very easy to drive into Cessnock for supplies). The walks from the property were lovely too - kangaroos, wallaroos and wallabies everywhere... A thoroughly enjoyable stay."

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at the property. It's just so far away from the rat race and just what we needed. We also had the pleasure of sharing our time with the owners two border collies, they had such a gorgeous temperament and kept themselves entertained the whole time we were there. Cosy home on a gorgeous piece of land, with all amenities needed to cook up a storm and spend a weekend unwinding. Would recommend for a weekend escape. Shame the sun wasn't out as much as we would have liked, but still managed a dip in the pool! "

  • ""Our stay at Tipaminka was amazing. The owners were extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay perfect, which it was. My partners exact words were "it's perfect ... breathtaking and peaceful". It is filled with everything you could wish for on a holiday, if not more. It has a welcoming and homely feel and is open and extremely usable and functional. The few days we spent at the property were romantic and private and if ever going to the Hunter again I would certainly stay there"."
