Description

The Pod is a property designed for families or couples to enjoy a unique holiday in your own coastal hideaway.

The Pod is located in the semi-rural area of Long Beach in a peaceful and tranquil setting on 8 acres of native bush, yet is only a couple of minutes drive from the beach, and under 10 minutes drive to Bateman’s Bay. The secluded property is home to plenty of local wildlife and with the enormous expanses of glass it feels like you are living up in the canopy with the birds.

The Pod is a large and comfortable home spread over 3 levels, and has been designed to accommodate up to 10 guests with 5 large bedrooms and three bathrooms.

There is a unique loft-style Kingsize master bedroom on the third level with views that overlook the property through 2 magnificent pentagonal windows. This level has its own ensuite complete with shower, and a bath to soak in while enjoying the view.

There are 2 Queensize bedrooms on the second level which adjoin a shared newly renovated bathroom complete with granite double vanity. On this level there is a large open plan living room with comfortable seating including cosy throws and cushions, and a large plasma TV, surround sound system, DVD player and a selection of in-house DVDs and Cds.
Please feel free to bring along your favourite movies and music for relaxing with at the end of a lazy day at the beach!
There is a fully equipped kitchen and dining setting for 8-10 people, and a laundry with large-capacity washing machine.

There is a third bathroom in the laundry area complete with shower and toilet. All bathrooms have shower caddies to hold all your favourite bath products.

Downstairs is the kids domain! There is a large rumpus room overlooking the bushland, and has access to the fully fenced dog enclosure. There is a tennis table and TV/DVD player, and PlayStation 1 for the kids - great for rainy weather, or when the adults want to relax on the deck.
There are 2 bedrooms downstairs with 4 single beds that can easily be pushed together if more couples decide to rent the property.

For your comfort, The Pod has reverse cycle air-conditioning in the kitchen, living room and downstairs rumpus room.

Heading out of the second level, there is large wrap around deck area with fabulous views over the surrounding bushland. There is an outdoor table and chairs and it is a great spot to relax and eat.

Linen:
There are mattress protectors, pillow protectors and quilts/covers/cushions in all rooms.
Please bring your own sheets and pillow cases, bathroom and beach towels.

Pets Policy:
Dogs will be permitted on an individual basis and after checking some basic requirements:
For the Canine companions, we ask that you ensure your dog/s are fully vaccinated/wormed and have regular flea and tick treatments, as ticks are common in this region of the coast.
We ask that your canine travellers are well behaved and remain either in the fully fenced dog area or on a leash if walked on the property. There is abundant wildlife in this region and we would like protection for all manner of creatures.
Please do not let your dogs inside the property, they should remain comfortable in their enclosure which comes equipped with 2 kennels and a day-bed.
There will be an extra $10 per night per canine companion.

No Smoking:
There is a strict no smoking policy at The Pod, and once you come here and breathe in the fresh air and see the amount of trees -you will understand why!

Check in/out:
Check in after 2pm, check out by 10am. Late check out can be arranged subject to availability.

Things to do

On the property itself, aside from relaxing and taking in the peacefulness, bird sounds, tall timbers including spotted gums and tree ferns, there are great nooks for reading, sunning yourself on the deck, a hammock which can be attached outside, and opportunities for table tennis competitions, playing the board games provided, watching movies and listening to your favourite tunes. There are numerous baskets throughout the house containing magazines of all descriptions. Please feel free to read these and return them to the baskets for fellow travellers.
There are walking areas on the property and beyond, mountain biking opportunities, and quiet spots for meditation and yoga if you should so desire.

If you have a boat, this can easily be parked in front of The Pod. (there is a large cement area for parking just in front of the house)
Limited launching facilities are provided at one end of Long Beach, however numerous boat ramps are provided around Batemans Bay.

A 2-minute car drive gets you to Long Beach or Maloneys Beach, for a day spent in the sun and gentle surf. A 10-minute drive will get you to Bateman’s Bay for great fish and chips, movies, bowls, fishing, restaurants, cafes, shops and more. A little further on will allow you to discover Mogo - again beautiful shops and cafes, and the famous Mogo Zoo; and Moruya which holds markets on most Saturday mornings.
If you should choose to drive to the Milton/Ulladulla region (approx 40-45mins drive) you will discover the quaint shops, stylish restaurants and cafes in Milton, and the great surf beaches at Ulladulla.

How to Get There

Longbeach is located 5kms north of Batemans Bay. From the Princes Hwy take the turnoff on the right to "Longbeach/Maloneys Beach" onto Cullendulla drive. After a couple of kms, take the second street on the left into Sea Acres drive and wind your way to the top of the road for a lovely view of the mountains. At the end of the road turn left into Clyde View drive, and we are number 56.
