BEACH COTTAGE, RIGHT AT THE BEACH - PATROLLED WITH LIFE GUARDS IN THE SUMMER - 1.5 HRS DRIVE SOUTH OF SYDNEY - JUST NORTH OF KIAMA.
Shellharbour Beach Cottage is a 3 bedroom cottage, located at Shellharbour South Beach. Just walk across the lawn to the beach path.
It is suitable for 1 large or 2 small families. Best suited and recommended to comfortably sleep 4 adults and 4 kids/teens, or 6 adults. It is a simple, beach style cottage, but with fresh new decor in 2013. All the furnishings are relatively new. It is fully fenced, so safe for children and dogs.
The house consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen and dining area and a lounge area. The main bedroom has a queen bed, the 2nd room has 2 x single beds (push together for a double). The 3rd room (the kids room) you walk through to reach the bathroom and main bedroom. It has 2 x double/single bunks sleeping 4 kids/teens easily.
The laundry is outside with washing machine and an extra shower and toilet, perfect for after the beach. The kitchen has dishwasher, fridge, pots, pans, electric frypan etc and all cooking facilities. There is usually a small supply of coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, tomato sauce, flour, oil, teatowels etc in the kitchen. There is inside dining and an outside table/chairs with umbrella. There is a gas BBQ.
The lounge seats 8 comfortably in lounge chairs with TV and DVD. There are books and some games and DVD's provided. We also provide some beach chairs and banana lounges. There is plenty of off street parking available for cars and a boat.
There is a small beach carpark (great for 5pm cricket and bike riding) and grass reserve at the back of the house along with bicycle paths along the beach.
The shops and outdoor cafes and restaurants are only a short stroll along the waterfront. Perfect for late afternoon picnic of fish and chips.
**Maximum is 8 people. No schoolies, no parties, no functions, no bucks nights on the property. This is a tranquil place to unwind for a family or friends get together.
Small/medium size dog is permitted.
Dogs LOVE our beach. They are allowed to run free on the far end of the beach.
Doonas, pillows and extra blankets are provided, as well as some electric blankets.
We have heaters in the winter and floor fans in the summer.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING your own sheets, pillowcases, bath towels, bathmat, beach towels.
(Linen may be rented from the Agent - arrange with them direct).
LOCATION
Shellharbour is 1 1/2 hours south of Sydney, situated just north of Kiama.
It is a small waterfront village with lots of shops and outdoor cafes and restaurants. There is a boat harbour for launching boats, and breakwaters for fishing.
There is plenty of shopping with large grocery and wonderful seafood market at Shellharbour Square, just 8 minutes drive away.
There is an olympic size salt water rock pool, also just a short walk from the house.
For those without a car, it is easy to take the train from Sydney Central to Dunmore Station (just 8 minutes in a taxi). Some of the Clubs in the area provide free transport in the evening for dinner etc.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Apart from the swimming and fishing, there are famous surf beaches nearby at The Farm as well as great scuba diving at Bass Point, just 5 minutes down the road.
There is a boat harbour only 5 minutes around the corner, for launching a boat, and plenty of off street parking for a boat.
For some sightseeing further afield, Minnamurra Falls, Kiama Blow Hole, "Babe" country, Jamberoo Fun Park and the Southern Highland towns of Bowral and Robertson make a lovely days outing.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE A NO NOISY PARTY POLICY.
The house is in a quiet neighbourhood, with permanent neighbours, so no "bucks" party or "schoolies" bookings accepted.
We are best suited to families or just a few friends having a nice week away at the beach.
