What our guests had to say

"Just wanted to touch base and let you know we had a wonderful time at your holiday home. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share in the experience, the wildlife were delightful.
The kids particularly enjoyed hand feeding the possums and kookaburras, and the rainbow lorikeets often joined us for breakfast on the balcony, we caught an edible fish (a first for the kids) & we even saw a whale at Forster beach! All in all a great holiday. "

Guest Reviews

  • "What a great position on the shores of Smiths Lake. We ate every meal on the deck overlooking the lake. (Watch out for the Kookas - they can pick up a whole steak in their beaks!) In the evenings we went fishing at the bottom of the yard and watched the sun set. The house was handy to the boatshed cafe - a 10 minute walk or a leisurely canoe paddle. Overall, an enjoyable holiday ion a lovely location. "

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Amaroo, the house was great, big enough for the kids to have their own space. We ate all of our meals on the deck overlooking the lake which was just beautiful. It's a short walk to Frothy Coffee Cafe, a well known local landmark where you can relax and enjoy a meal, swim and fish."

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Amaroo. The house over delivers what's described on the website - spectacular views, spacious, clean and fully equipped for all the holiday needs. We'd also like to thank the owners for their timely responses to our enquires. Overall, we highly recommend this place."

  • "We had a great weekend away from Sydney witht he kids. The place was big enough for 2 families and the kids loved the chalet styled house with the open foyer and staircase...they asked if we could move there forever. We hand fed kookaburras from the balcony, had an awesome bbq and watched a spectacular sunset (believe me, spectacular is the only way to describe it). Would love to visit again during summertime to enjoy the beautiful beaches closeby. "

  • "Lovely relaxing location and great views over the lake from back veranda. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We just went with our baby daughter but it'd be a great house to go to with a group of friends or family."

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Amaroo. The house was great, and the location was everything we hoped for. It was wonderful being able to sit out on the deck and eat our meals - the possums only came one night, but we made them welcome. We have holidayed at several places up and down the coast, but Smiths Lake had a nice holiday village feel, which we really enjoyed."

  • "From the moment we walked through the door, this place had exceeded our expectation. It was the perfect place for a well earned, restful family holiday and we loved having a fully equipped kitchen! The games room downstairs was perfect for the couple of rainy days we had. The location is just beautiful. We hope to return some day soon in the near future. Thankyou for everything. -The Murray Family"

  • "Thanks so much for the great stay; it was really such a nice way to get away from the city without the hassle of hours on end in a car or the crowds at an airport! The drive from Sydney was so easy and the cabin was great... we couldn?t get over the great balcony and the views! We spent most of our time fishing (I don?t think I actually remember seeing my fianc? doing anything else!) and Bluey's beach swimming... and yes, more fishing there too! :) We certainly took advantage of both the pool table and the ping pong table - there were certainly some entertaining moments... I didn?t know ping pong could be so much fun after a glass of wine or two! We had a few visitors during our stay too - a possum and a couple of kookaburras also came to say hi - probably more to the sausages than to us :) Thanks again for such a great stay, Rebecca and Simon"
