5 acre garden setting directly adjoins Angahook-Lorne State Park. See slide shows on Cimarron website. Central fireplace in common room with vaulted ceilings. Indigenous Art from around the world on display. Large comfortable rooms with queen size beds & TV/Video. In every room ocean and whitewater views are seen across natural bushland. Access to large book and video librairies (>1000 films). Continental breakfast included. Full gourmet cooked breakfast may be arranged for additional fee.

Location

Cimarron is at 105 Gilbert St. Aireys Inlet.

From Anglesea: 2km past Urquhart Bluff on Great Ocean Road. Turn right on Boundary Rd., then 1st right on Gilbert Street. Cimarron is 1km down Gilbert, 3rd drive on left after Katalin Road.

From Lorne: drive through Aireys Inlet on Great Ocean Road, pass post office on right, then turn left onto Gilbert St. at fork in road, just in front of Memorial Hall on right. 1.8 K down Gilbert, past Boundary Rd., then 3rd drive on left after Katalin Road.

Local Attractions

Located on the Great Ocean Road, one of the worlds most spectacular, scenic coastal drives. Close to Split Point Lighthouse and cliff walk. In the right conditions you can see all 4 lighthouses that guard Port Phillip Bay (Cape Schank, Split Point, Queenscliffe and Point Lonsdale) from the front verandah. Five minutes to several surf beaches. Bushwalking from the property with more than 100km of well-made, signposted tracks. Horseback riding, hang-gliding, mountain biking all in the area. Excellent local restaurants and other facilities close-by. More that 100 species of birds in the area. Four species of parrot feed regularly on the verandah and are amongst the 50 birds sighted in the 5 acre grounds of Cimarron. Kangaroos, wallabies and even occasional koalas range in the grounds and adjoining parklands. Nearby heathlands constitute one of the richest orchid habitats in Victoria. August to November is the peak wildflower season.
