Description

A delightful cosy studio cottage located on the beautiful Bilgola Plateau in the large garden of my home with separate entrance.

Perfect for the solo traveler or couple who want independence and privacy but would also enjoy meeting locals.

We are central for some of Australia's best beaches, bush walks, bays and finest restaurants are within a few minutes drive. Great cafes in Avalon Village within walking distance.

The cottage is light and airy and has a stylish ensuite bathroom and kitchenette with fridge.

Cooking facilities are toaster, electric kettle, BBQ & microwave, hot plate, toaster oven.

A cafe that serves good coffee and full breakfast is a few minutes walk away.

Comfortable Queen size bed with all linen provided.

You have your own deck and outside area to have a glass of wine or cup of tea. Full size BBQ, outdoor setting, TV/DVD player.

High-speed Wifi

A Weekend - or Week - in Pittwater

Pittwater is the Northern peninsula of Sydney's Northern Beaches, about 45 minutes from the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It's a narrow strip of land with peaceful bays on one side (Clareville, Taylor's Point) and surf beaches on the other; Bilgola, Avalon, Whale and Palm beaches - all stunning golden sand beaches with sea pools.

A short ferry ride will take you over to The Basin which is a picturesque swimming lagoon in National Park bushland where you'll always see wallabies and native parrots as well as other wildlife.

Avalon Village is our closest shopping area, it's about 15 minutes walk (easier on the downhill than the up!) 3 minutes drive or there are buses. There's a supermarket, excellent bookshop, French patisserie and lots of great cafes that serve good food.

We have many restaurants in the area, including the internationally famous Jonahs and Barrenjoey House but also many good brasseries and take-aways.

Gourmet take-away pizza a few minutes walk away.

Transport: Buses on the peninsular are not that plentiful and there are no trains servicing this area - for many people this is part of the charm but the area is also very hilly so I would highly recommend getting a car if you want to explore this part of Sydney.

  • "My stay at pittwater cottage was very enjoyable. The cottage was extremely clean and well thought out. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and it was lovely to enjoy it on the patio with the local birds in the garden. I would highly recommend a stay in this tranquil and charming spot."

  • "Pittwater Studio Cottage is a mini-haven set in a private garden, with everything you need at your fingertips. Thoughtfully, boogie boards are provided for the keen surfer! The compact cottage has a super-comfy bed, DVD player, neat bathroom and tiny kitchen fitted into a recess in the wall. I relaxed on the verandah and dined al fresco. The breakfast fare is generous and includes fresh fruit in season and bacon and eggs which you cook up on the BBQ. Amanda took great care to meet my varying dietary needs over several visits. I love the decor and the quiet atmosphere and members of my family have also stayed on different occasions. Booking is easy and Amanda is very helpful. Highly recommended for a stress-free sojourn. "

  • "Sweet little garden cottage. Very clean, and pretty. The owner, Amanda was very helpful in our last minute dash to find accommodation as we were attending a wedding in the area. She was warm and welcoming and added lovely touches such as fruit in the room and newspaper at the door in the morning. Would recommend to others."

  • "What a restful short break we had! Our host Amanda was great. She provided us with some yummy breakfast bits and unique suggestions on what we should do for the day. The cottage was beautifully appointed and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The verandah and gardens were well appreciated when we returned from the Avalon Annual Fair. After our afternoon siesta we headed down to Bilgola Beach for an afternoon swim. Discovered a little cafe called Billies on Bilgola Beach which served dinner so we stopped and had a yummy meal with some friends we met on the beach. No fuss, simple food, BYO and affordable. I never would have thought that 1 hour north of the Inner West, could we find such a gem of a place. Thank you Amanda, we will be back. Su and Joseph Furolo"
