Burrill Lake is located only 5kms south of Ulladulla, a 3 hour drive from Sydney & a 2-1/2 hour drive from Canberra. Most of the lake's shores retain their natural bushland & forest cover. Views west across the lake are to Pigeon House Mountain creating a beautiful natural setting.
Location, views, location views..."The Lakehouse" is a cosy 2 bedroom cottage with a reserve lake frontage to beautiful Burrill Lake & a boat ramp at your doorstep. Relax on the veranda with a BBQ & drink while enjoying the stunning sunsets over the lake. The main bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom comprises 2 single beds. The country style kitchen is well appointed with an open plan dining area & living room. The bathroom has a full size bath with shower over the bath & is combined with the laundry. Separate toilet room. Off street parking is available for your boat & vehicle. All linen is supplied, including beach towels. An 80cm TV & a 3-in-1 stereo are in the lounge room with a slow combustion fire. We request no smoking inside the house for the benefit of future guests.
Burrill Lake offers boating, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, kayaking & swimming. Enjoy a relaxing holiday, or an energetic one the choice is yours. You won't want to leave "The Lakehouse" just relaxing enjoying the view from your verandah, fishing at your doorstep....you don't really need to drive anywhere. Bottle shop, fresh local fish shop & bait n tackle shop at the end of the road, with an IGA convenience store, newsagency, cafe, hairsalon, putt putt golf & a cruise boat lake tour just over the bridge. Door to door courtesy bus available to all local clubs.
Leisure Activities
The coastline offers many secluded and safe beaches with soft white sand, crystal clear water and endless strolls investigating sandstone sea ledges and fascinating rock pools. All year round dolphins can be seen gently cruising off shore as they make their way up and down the coast. Whale watching can be seen from a number of vantage points from August to November. Birdlife and wildlife are abundant. Visit Bungalow Park at 3pm (Eastern Standard Time) or 4pm in daylight saving time to feed the Rainbow Lorikeets (just over the bridge and next door to the Burrill Lake Shopping Village). And where else in Australia can you see relatively tame kangaroos bounding along the seashore next to surfers than at famous Pebbly Beach (an approximate 40 minute drive south of Burrill Lake).
5-10 minutes drive to some of the most beautiful pristine beaches the south coast has to offer, Mollymook Beach (patrolled), Dolphin Point, Burrill Beach, Rennies Beach to name only a few. Golf at Mollymook Beachside or for the more experienced golfer try Hilltop at Mollymook (an 8-10 minute drive approx). Further south at Batemans Bay is Catalina Golf Course (35 minutes approx), or south again to Moruya Golf Course (approx 1 hour drive). Lawn bowls at Ulladulla or Mollymook. Numerous bush walks & trails or a morning stroll along Burrill Beach, just walk from home up to the highway, cross over and you're there! And of course beach fishing!
Restaurants
The south coast boasts some of the best restaurants in NSW. Rick Stein at Bannisters Head is a must to try and only a 10 minute drive from "The Lakehouse". Rick Stein at Bannisters restaurant has been awarded Best New Restaurant 2010 for the southern region at the NSW Restaurant and Catering Awards.
Milton & Ulladulla host a number of restaurants offering various cuisines, or try the local cafe just over the Burrill Lake bridge, in walking distance for breakfast or lunch or just a coffee!
