Armytage House is a converted sandstone barn set in a large private garden. Spacious with quality furnishings, a well equiped kitchen, timber and polished concrete floors, spa bath, comfortable beds, plenty of books and dvd's, it is the perfect base for your holiday.

Located at Bagdad on the Midland Highway, it is an easy drive to Hobart, Salamanca, Museum of Old and New Art(MONA), surrounding wineries and heritage towns.

With two bedrooms, both with queen beds the house is ideally suited to one or two couples. The overnight price includes provisions for a hearty breakfast.

  • "This property is simply amazing. We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. The photos reflect the beauty and quality of this property, but cannot capture just how peaceful and luxurious it really is. The owners have converted a sandstone barn into a 5 star apartment, keeping all of its best heritage features while adding only the best quality improvements. Of course you get the dishwasher, the spa, the huge walk in shower, underfloor heating, bathrobes, tasty breakfast basket, but you also get 2 delightful, welcoming but unobtrusive hosts. The property is carefully and discretely screened from the hosts residence by large trees and shrubs, and you truly feel like the property is yours alone. "

  • "My husband & I researched all over for decent accommodation in Tasmania. It was hard to know where to stay from pictures on the internet, brochures etc. It took some time but we finally came across Armytage House in Bagdad, Tas. From the moment we pulled up to Armytage House to the day we left, everything was perfect. Close proximity to most locations. A convenience store up the road open til 7pm for last minute things. A grocery store in the next town over not too far away. We met the lovely Gill & June, our hosts who could not do enough to make our stay a comfortable & memorable one. Upon entering our accommodation, we were in awe of the amazing building. All open space living. Such a warming presence. Even better in real life than what we were expecting from the pictures. There were breakfast provisions left for us including delicious home made produce, jams, fresh bread & free range eggs. Plenty of towels, toiletries. In floor heating was a nice treat. Dishwasher & washing machine came in very handy. The spa bath was huge. The scenery was awesome. Grass & trees in abundance. Barbeque area outside. We stayed for 7 nights & didn't want to leave. So peaceful & relaxing. I would highly recommend staying here. Very welcoming indeed. "
