Description
This spacious beach front home, designed by Bud Brannigan and inspired by the traditional 1950's 'beach shack', offers the opportunity for a truly relaxed beach holiday. Recently completed and located right on the beach in central Casuarina, the house comfortably sleeps up to 12 people and is ideal for either one or two families, or even couples wanting a romantic escape for two. The modern open plan has been designed to capture the natural ocean breezes, and provides the perfect blend of indoor and outdoor living at the beach.
The great room comprises lounge, dining and kitchen and flows to a large covered east facing deck overlooking lush landscaped gardens through to the beach.
The master bedroom/ensuite (also east facing) is a perfect place to retreat and relax... escape and enjoy a luxurious candlelit bath before curling up in bed with a movie or good book; sounds of the ocean will complete the mood.
Cooking for the family in the well appointed kitchen will be a pleasure, or fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco on the deck perhaps enjoying the spoils of an afternoon's beach fishing directly out the front.
At the other end of the house, the kids will have a ball in their own retreat; an 8-bed bunkroom with TV & games and separate deck. They'll find the park only 20m away and 15km of bike path at your doorstep. With no roads to cross, there is direct access to the beach (patrolled in high season & school holidays) and plenty of safe places to walk, ride, skate or scoot.
A second bedroom (with queen bed), modern bathroom and fully equipped laundry complete this end of the house.
Outside, you'll find an outdoor hot/cold shower and plenty of space to hang your gear when you come back from the beach.
Guests also have complimentary use of the Casuarina Rec-Club facilities, including two heated pools, fully equipped gym, yoga and fitness classes & two tennis courts
Thing to Do (Other Than Relax):
Spindrift is located between two beach access points, one of which is the central beach patrolled during school holidays and on summer weekends. Swim, surf, learn to surf, fish, walk, ride or just sit and relax.
You are just metres away from the local park, and only a couple of minutes walk to the Sandbar & Grill Restaurant and Corner Shop, and Casurina Rec-Club.
Take advantage of complimentary access to the Casuarina Rec-Club and enjoy the use of the two heated pools, fully equipped gym including yoga and exercises classes, and two tennis courts. Swimming & Tennis lessons can also be arranged.
Book in for surf lessons at Surf Australia located at Central Casuarina, or hire a bike and explore 26km of bike path which now extends from Kingscliff all the way to Pottsville in the south.
Head south on the beach towards Cabarita and enjoy the spectacular views from the headland... a favourite spot for dolphin and whale watching. Enjoy a meal at the local pub (great for family dining) or brekky at the beach front cafe.
Drive further south for 30 minutes to beautiful Byron Bay and the NSW hinterland. Visit the weekend markets from Bangalow to Cooloongatta.
Head north along the beach/bike path to Salt where you will find more restaurants, the beachfront Salt Bar and for those in need of a little pampering, the Golden Door Spa.
Continue riding to Kingscliff (also only a 5 minute drive away) for more cafes/restaurants, boutiques, movie theatre and grocery shopping.
Play Golf at the Cudgen Golf Club & Driving Range (open to the public & only 5mins drive away)
Further north, visit the Gold Coast Theme Parks, 30 mins drive on the M1 towards Brisbane.
For boating enthusiasts, the beautiful Tweed River is only 10 minutes away with full boat access at the Chinderah boat ramp.
