This was an absolutely beautiful property surrounded by lovely grassy hills, plenty of trees and gorgeous neighbouring cows too! Although we did not have great weather it was still a lovely experience made all the better by the lovely service from Johanne and Mark. We will be back for sure!

We had a fabulous three night stay in December and wish it had been longer. We wanted a quiet family break to wind down from a busy year before visiting relatives for Christmas. We needed a comfortable house, gorgeous views, privacy and a pool. All boxes were ticked at Pocket Pines.
The property offered total serenity and once we unpacked and sat out on the deck you could feel the pressure of the whole year just slide away. The saltwater pool was fabulous and well secured which was great with a four year old. The wraparound verandah was the best part with all meals spent on the deck just chatting and gazing at the trees and hills.
The hosts were fabulous! Great communication all through the process and even a few niggling questions were promptly answered on a Sunday. A detailed set of instructions were left about how to operate everything in the house, which was really thoughtful and handy.
The kitchen is fabulously equipped - there is literally nothing you need to bring except food as the kitchen has every single appliance or tool you might need. Two full, gorgeous dinner sets, loads of glasses and teacups (the old-fashioned cup'n'saucer' kind) plus all kinds of serving dishes.
The kids have been talking about 'the holiday house' for weeks since we left, so it definitely made a great impression on them too. They loved feeding the two chickens on the property and having a fresh egg every day. Five acres gave them heaps of room to run around and play games and use up some energy.
We are planning a return trip in the future and would definitely recommend this property. Thanks for the great experience, this will be a wonderful family memory for years to come.

We had the most delightful family holiday at beautiful Pocket Pines. Everything was just delightful and even when the weather was uncharacteristically wet, we just enjoyed the lovely, peaceful and perfectly appointed house. We can't wait to make a return trip!

My partner and I (along with another couple and three great danes) just returned from 8 wonderful nights at Pocket Pines. We couldn't be more relaxed and happy after our stay.
We spent every night relaxing on the back deck with a bottle of wine and a home cooked meal, easily prepared courtesy of the well stocked kitchen.
Days were spent enjoying all the surrounding beaches - safe and many dog friendly - as well as relaxing by the pool. The dogs came home exhausted from their fun in the sun and time spent introducing themselves to the chooks and the cattle through the fence.
Two big thumbs up. We'll definitely be back.

Stayed here for 3 days with friends from Denmark for a long weekend and we had a ball.
The home is well equipped with a great kitchen, entertaining deck and internet. The pool and surrounds made for a relaxing stay.
Close to all the attractions of Byron Bay, Pocket Pines is the perfect alternative for staying in the town of Byron Bay
Mark and Joanne were great to deal and have created a lovely holiday home

Our week at Pocket Pines was simply bliss! The house itself is lovely, cosy and with everything we needed. It's perfectly positioned to enjoy the glorious sunshine and views at any time of day. The property is in a terrific location to enjoy the best of the country lifestyle as well as be at the beach in 10 minutes. We (including our dog!) can't recommend Pocket Pines highly enough - we're already planning our next visit!

A really great place to stay with the family. A welcoming and relaxing home, not just a barren and anonymous house.

- Great setting.
- Listen to the cows and birds, not to cars and people.
- Close enough to shops and beaches to feel connected, yet far enough to feel disconnected.
- Great family setting.
- We hope to go back.
