This country property is an ideal place to relax and unwind with no traffic and plenty of space to breathe. The long verandas are perfect for summer siestas, whilst the wood burning fires make winter escapes a cosy delight. Our 60 acres embraces both native forest and rolling farm land with Alpacas, Sheep, Goats, Kangaroos and many native birds & animals calling us home.

We encourage you to picnic by the lake and wander the grounds. The lush expanse of flat grassy land around the lake provides the perfect place for a game of cricket , a lazy afternoon lunch, yabby fishing or simply dozing in an outdoor chair under a shady willow tree.

This peaceful country setting will renew and inspire you. We encourage our guests to experience a slower, quieter, more connected time with nature, away from the hectic pace of the everyday world. Come & explore…

Location

Pennyroyal is only 90 min from Melbourne (via new ring road) and just 15 minutes inland from Lorne, The Great Ocean Road and its surrounding beaches.

Our location provides the perfect pathway for those wanting to explore the greater Lorne Hinterland (Birregurra, Deans Marsh, Forrest...) The Surf Coast, Apollo Bay, The Otway Fly, The Apostles and beyond.

You don't have to travel far to enjoy coastal beaches, local berry farms, restaurants & wineries, walking & mountain bike trails, fishing and other outdoor pursuits.

Accommodation

Pennyroyal Otways Retreat provides a peaceful holiday atmosphere. Our three cottages are in a bush setting and have a rustic country charm in their decor with wooden finishes. They are distanced well apart allowing for privacy and anonymity.

The living areas are spacious with comfy leather sofas, wood burning fires, long timber tables everyone can gather at for meals and the latest entertainment system with over 700 in house movies, music and TV.

The kitchens are fully equipped with all that you'll require. The BBQ facilities on the verandahs allow you to make the most of this stunning location. The bedrooms have white linen & towels with electric blankets for the cooler months.

THE LAKEVIEW COTTAGE (sleeps up to 5)

This charming cottage sits hillside overlooking the lake.
Take pleasure sitting out on the balcony with your morning coffee watching the sun rise up over the gum trees.

Weekend rate : $200 a night OR stay 3 nights for $500.
Midweek rate : $200 a night or stay 3 nights for the price of 2

THE FOREST COTTAGE (sleeps up to 8)

A wonderfully large natural timber cottage, this cottage sits alongside the State Forest with sweeping views of our Kangaroo Valley below.

Weekend rate :$200 to $400 night OR stay 3 nights and 3rd night half price.
Midweek rate : from $200 flat rate per night OR stay 3 for the price of 2

THE FARMHOUSE (sleeps up to 16)

This is the largest of our cottages and sleeps up to 16 people. This cottage looks down the valley, across the lake to neighboring hills.

( this ensures a really lazy Sunday with no packing and more relaxing !! )
MId Week Rates: from $400
