Description

The Guest House, which resembles a Scottish cottage, is nestled in spacious grounds beneath Mt. Moriac, in the gently sloping Barrabool Hills. It is conveniently located only 16 kilometres from Geelong, one of Victoria's most popular holiday destinations, and only one hour from Melbourne CBD.

Barrabool Hills Retreat offers 3 superior double rooms and can accommodate couples, families or single guests. Guests have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the restful and tranquil atmosphere of a fine country house and garden, surrounded by interesting works of art.

Charming hospitality

Barrabool Hills Retreat also offers a buffet breakfast of seasonal and organic produce, including fresh local free range eggs. Breakfast is served buffet-style in the elegant breakfast room or on the adjoining deck.

There are plenty of comfortable spots to relax and un-wind after a long journey, with ambient views over the Waurn Ponds Creek and pretty garden, and also a cosy fireplace for cooler months. For the more energetic there is a landscaped multi-purpose grass court for tennis, pentaque and croquet.

The lounges and breakfast room each have an elevated view over the garden, water-hole and surrounding hills. You can enjoy the atmosphere while you feast and plan the day ahead.

  • "I have stayed at Barabool Hills Retreat twice recently and both times had a lovely relaxing time. It is like home from home. You arrive to be welcomed by the owner, Lorelle who takes great pride in the accommodation and making your stay a pleasant one. The house is nestled in a gorgeous garden and it is so peaceful. It is very close to Geelong and is wonderful to have dinner in the city and an easy drive back. I really appreciated having a good nights sleep in the country. Breakfast was waiting when I came downstairs and I was well looked after. Plus, it is an arts center and has on-going art shows, which are fun to peruse and maybe even buy something to take home. I felt relaxed and refreshed after staying here."
