The Treehouse is surrounded by national parkland, with its own private jetty. From this peaceful location you can swim, kayak, fish, wander along one of the walking trails or just relax on the pontoon.
The Treehouse is a scenic 90 minute drive from Sydney CBD (with easy car access), located in the tiny hamlet of Gunderman between Wisemans Ferry & Spencer. There is no public transport so you will need your own car or boat. The river is calm and wide at this point, and is one of the Hawkesbury's most popular fishing spots.
This architecturally designed red-cedar pole house is set high on the riverbank. The panoramic windows and large covered balcony take in the majestic views of the Hawkesbury River and the cliff faces of the surrounding Dharug and Marramarra National Parks. Oriented to the west, there is sun all afternoon with spectacular sunset views. There are two bedrooms each with queen sized beds and high cathedral ceilings. The main bedroom is on a mezzanine level and overlooks the living area which has a combustion fire. The house runs off collected rainwater.
This well equipped home has a special feel, amongst the treetops, overlooking the water. Perfect for winter or summer, rain or shine.

We stayed at the treehouse for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. It is in an unbelievable location and the house was incredibly well equipped, you could not have asked for a nicer place to stay. The owners have thought of everything, even down to the tea lights on the table, pillows and blankets for the daybed. We will certainly return, hopefully in winter so that we can use the fire.

This is an amazing property in a sentational location. We had a peaceful and relaxing time during our 4 day stay. Having various 'relaxation' spots to move through was definitely a bonus. Our favourite was lying on the pontoon at the end of the day with a book; being rocked by the water, and watching the sky change as the sun dropped behind the hills. We would love to go back.

We are finding it very difficult to contemplate leaving this tranquil escape for the mundane!
Everything about The Treehouse has been outstanding. Beautifully appointed, generously stocked, spic and span all with ever changing views of the river and hills beyond. Highly recommended. We are two couples and there is plenty of space for us to share together as well as day beds and decks for a little private time alone.

Myself and two friends stayed at the Treehouse for two nights over a weekend and had the best time ever. The house is incredibly cosy and well equipped in one of the most pristine and beautiful locations I've ever been to in Australia. The fish weren't really biting unfortunately but that didn't take away from the good times. Thank you! Would return in a heartbeat.

This was our second time in the treehouse this year. What a truly FABULOUS place! We had three nights with open fire, DVD's, walks, lots of good food, wine and each other. Couldn't have asked for more. Thoroughly recommend The Treehouse for anyone wanting to relax, chill and get back to nature. Thank you, Lisa & David Rippon

One of the best places we've stayed at anywhere ! Awesome views of the river, and no expense spared on the place, it was like home the moment we stepped through the door.
At the top of my list for a comfortable weekend getaway that's for sure.

My husband and I just LOVED The Treehouse so much that we are coming back again in August. The setting is beautiful, tranquil and peaceful. The house is set up magnificently and as long as you have good food and wine, you'll want for nothing else. A truly wonderful, relaxing weekend.

Surperb property and inclusions. We really enjoyed our four days. Waking up to the fog over the river was special. Relaxing in the peace and quiet was the highlight. Kitchen exceeded expectations it was surperbly fitted out, would have liked a bigger TV we found the existing one way too small. Would have a longer stay but work commitments stopped that We will come back next year for a week or two.
Congratulations to the owners

Remember the "Castle" and the desription used "Aarr the Serenity" well that really does fit The Treehouse. We stayed for the 7 nights and left there feeling relaxed and ready to take on the world again. Everything is there for you, even the fish decided to be nice to us, two lovely flathead which promptly made it to the BBQ on the gorgeous deck.
The canoes, well what can one say, every man needs a canoe!!! If you read the tides well you can paddle one way and let the water do the work on the return. Bush turkeys add to the peacefulness, as does the waking up to the fog lifting from the Hawkesbury each morning to reveal the river and the surrounding hills.
Thankyou Scott, Emma and Phil for providing this lovely escape. Cathy & Brett

What a wonderful, serene place this was. We spent a week kayaking, swimming, fishing(without much expertise!) and doing a whole lot of nothing. It is so beautiful, inside & out and the house has everything you could possibly want. We hope to come back one day - maybe we'll learn how to fish by then!

2 nights was enough to tell us that we needed more. We felt right at home the moment we walked through the door. EVERYTHING you need is provided from a washer-dryer to fish sauce and fishing tackle. St Albans was surreal, the convict history of the Old Great North Road was thought provoking, and the pub at Wisemans Ferry provides good square meals, but the most enjoyable time was spent lounging down by the river during the day and by the wood stove during the evening. From high up on the balcony we watched a lyre bird and a bush turkey go about their business as the sun worked its way across the Hawkesbury. We ate in once but would do so more next time. If you need a hassle-free getaway and not have to deal with another soul if you dont want to this place is perfect. Plus you get to do it in style and see a most interesting part of the country in the bargain. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful relaxing holiday. The house is lovely and very well equipped, right down to the guest loofahs and candles by the day bed on the banks of the river. We made full use of the kayaks, tinny, fishing gear and nearby hiking trails to come back to have dinner on the deck looking out over the river. There was a lot of wildlife to see and we were lucky enough to see a sugar glider and a lyre bird amongst other natives. Highly recommend if you want a stress free, relaxing holiday.
