About this property
Peaceful location,Superb sea views,on the 'Wild Atlantic Way'! ...With internet.
Ard na nOilean (height overlooking Islands) – No doubt you are looking for your dream holiday home. Then look no further - This house is situated in quite unique surroundings. The landward sides of the house are enclosed by rock-faces, with the remainder open to the sea . A path from the garden leads directly to the strand. The perfect location for painters, writers, photographers or simply people who appreciate nature at its finest!. Despite the cottage's sheltered location Annagry village is for your evenings entertainment, nothing more than a short stroll away. - I have recently completed the construction of an elevated Summerhouse featuring panoramic and breathtaking views of Annagry village and Carrickfinn beach in the distance.
The village is only a 8minute walk away and has three pubs and two restaurants. One of which is the renowned Killindarragh House “Danny Minnie´s”. Some of the regions most famous artists, such as Clannad, Enya and Altan began their careers playing in the traditional pubs, such as Leo's, which define the area.
The village has among other services a small supermarket. Chemist, post office, hairdressers and two Take-aways Activities: Golf, Cuirt Island, Gweedore, Falcarragh, Portnoo, Dunfanaghy - all courses within a radius of 50 km; Horse Riding; Fishing, deep sea, river and lake - info on permits available; Hill walking and climbing in the Poison Glen and Errigal; Walking on the countless miles of unspoiled beaches; Surfing and diving schools in the Dungloe area; Day trips to Tory and Gola Islands from Bunbeg Harbour. To simply spend a day driving around this area of Donegal is an experience, you will never forget. Cycling has in recent years become very popular with the locals and the cycling paths are continually being improved. Some routes have absolutely stunning scenery and will challenge your fitness.
- Further information regarding sightseeing and day trips can be found in the cottage. - Be sure to read the guestbook for additional tips

Absolutely beautiful property! House is beautiful and surrounding area is to die for. Very warm and cozy (we stayed Christmas week) 7 days, some of the best seven days iv spent away from home. Great being pet friendly, had our three dogs with us they loved it! Fire place is amazing. Over all a beautiful place and a great stay! Highly recommended. Great host also!
An absolutely beautiful property with a lovely walk to the village and so much to see and do. A bit of plane spotting kept the children amused with a great view of the local airport.
If you want a quiet getaway with beautiful beaches on your doorstep, this is it.
Spotlessly clean with everything you could need for a relaxing home from home stay.
Had a great stay , hiking around Donegal , the setting of the house is picture perfect , there was plenty of room for the 5 of us to spread out everyone agreed it was a great cottage , close to beach and mountains.Jim was a great host too. Can’t wait to return.
We had stayed here previously and loved it, not sure how it could get much better until we arrived and found the most amazing viewing platform.
Will definitely be back again
A haven for those in need of a bit of peace and quiet, close enough to shops, restaurants and pubs if wanted and a short drive to amazing beaches.Alternatively, a fabulous family home for bigger parties.
We enjoyed a lovely relaxing week in Annagry. Great base to tour the Wild Atlantic Way - beautiful views and a very well appointed house. We would recommend!
Spacious property well equipped with everything needed for a great stay. Peaceful location with lovely views from garden. Host very helpful and friendly when we had difficulty finding property.
Enjoyed staying in Annagry, the house was very centrally located and easy to get around Donegal. Lots of lovely beaches nearby and you can watch the planes coming and going.
The house was very comfortable, had an issue with unwashed floors and dust when we arrived but a mop and duster sorted out both.
Would return to the area again, lots of places to eat, we had a very relaxing time away.

Response from VrboOwner on 30 July 2024
I would just like to say I contacted Mandy immediately on hearing of her issue with the floors and dust. It transpires that the steam cleaner element of the Karcher power washer had expired and as a result was not cleaning the floors properly. My cleaner was unaware of this as she only recently started working with me, and she may not have been completely up to speed in regard to my cleanliness standards. Having said that, Mandy also confided in me that she has an extremely high expectation on hygiene issues ... which I might add, she is perfectly entitled to. As the saying goes. The customer is king or in this case queen.
This property has all you need and more for a prefect break away. Situation is prefect for sightseeing the surrounding areas, house views beautiful. Could not ask for better.
This is the second time that we stayed here. The house was well-equipped and very comfortable. The owner was easily approachable. The surrounding beaches were amazing, my children and us enjoyed it very much.
A great house in a great location. This is the perfect getaway! Beautiful landscape. There are fantastic walks including the old railway walk at Burtonport and Cruit. The firepit in the evenjngs was a highlight.
Bright spacious house yet cosy and comfortable. We immediately felt at home here. The outside space is wonderful and especially so with the new sun room and terrace with sea views. It was so nice to come back to this house after a day exploring all that Donegal has to offer. We had everything we needed.
It was a lovely property. Beautiful high ceilings. Comfy beds and big sitting/dining room. My friends loved it and would like to come back. Walking distance down to Annagry, so close to lovely restaurants and pubs. Nice and secluded too. Great choice.
Nice house to stay and relax for a few days out of busy life . Enjoyed walking surrounded wild Atlantic beaches . Amazing views. Recommended to everyone.
Thank you for everything❤
Awesome host and house , we were looking for something out away from the big cities and we hit the Jack pot . We were fortunate to spend time with Jim and he could share history about Donegal county and it’s people , we had a blast with the locals of Annagary and surrounding communities , thanks to Jim and the Annagary community
