Relax in your very own TREE TOP RETREAT! This ARCHITECT DESIGNED eco-friendly lake front holiday home has been designed as the perfect holiday getaway. It is fully equipped and family friendly, incorporating 4 bedrooms, with 3 bathrooms, and 2 separate living areas downstairs.
Located in the Great Lakes region, 3 hours north of Sydney, Smiths Lake is within minutes of several stunning beaches, lakes and areas of natural beauty, making it an ideal destination for a weekend away or extended holiday.
The stunning main living/entertaining area incorporates a FULLY EQUIPPED MODERN COOKS KITCHEN, large dining table, lounge area with TV / DVD/stereo, day bed and library of books. A rammed earth wall, log burner, and beautiful views make this room a truly fantastic place to relax.
There is a lovely SUNNY TERRACE adjacent to the kitchen with a HERB GARDEN (including basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary, chilli, kafir lime, lemongrass, curry leaves) which you are welcome to use. We also provide basic kitchen provisions (foil, oil, sugar, tea bags etc.).
A 2ND SEPARATE TV/ CHILL OUT LOUNGE/ LIVING AREA has a large LCD TV, with surround sound, integrated I-pod docking station and PLAYSTATION 2 with games (including Buzz!). There is a selection of DVDs and videos to enjoy (including a childrens selection), as well as various board games and a range of children's toy, which saves you bringing them with you! Relax on the DAYBED and take in the wonderful views.
The LARGE FRONT DECK extends the length of the house and looks out through the tree tops to the lake. From here you can enjoy the beautiful sounds and sights of the Australian bush including bower birds, kookaburras, majestic black cockatoos and flying foxes. A large gas BBQ, and outdoor dining table are provided for alfresco cooking and dining.
Upstairs you will find 4 BEDROOMS all with views.
The 2 IDENTICAL MASTER BEDROOMS with Queen size beds sit at opposite ends of the house. Both have built in robes, desks and ceiling fans and each boasts it's own balcony with beautiful views out through the trees. The third bedroom has a Queen bed and the fourth a set of custom built timber bunk beds. There is an interconnecting door between the 3rd and 4th bedroom.
** We are happy to provide up to 2 extra foam matresses for extra children.
There are 2 LARGE BATHROOMS with separate baths / showers. Relax in A BATH WITH A VIEW out across the tree tops to the lake - sheer indulgence.
Ceiling fans and cross ventilation ensure cool comfort in the summer months, whilst for those long winter nights, curl up in front of the log burner, which also has an integrated oven allowing you to make your own bread / pizzas!
Two outdoor hot and cold showers are also provided for you to rinse off after a visit to one of the numerous local beaches.
The house is located on a 3,000 square metre plot, sloping down to the lake. Walk down through our very own tropical rainforest to a secluded lake front beach / cove. The perfect place for a swim, a picnic, or a spot of fishing!

The house is the perfect getaway for couples, friends and families alike. For those with young children, you will also find a high chair, travel cot, small childrens dining table, and kids cutlery / plates provided.
Location & Surrounding Area
Smiths Lake is located in the Great Lakes region, approximately 3hrs drive north of Sydney. The Great Lakes is an area of outstanding natural beauty, encompassing clear lakes and waterways, spectacular beaches, green forests and breathtaking views.
Beaches within 5 - 10 minute drive of Orange Grove include Cellito, Boomerang, Blueys and Elizabeth (patrolled, and good for kids). Local lakes are ideal for swimming with young children, with shallow clear water. Seal Rocks is a 20 minutes drive away - head up to the lighthouse for great views, and whale watching (in season). Forster is approximately 20 minutes drive, which has large supermarkets and various retailers. Smiths Lake village has a butcher, baker, village shop and the Lakes Cafe which does a great coffee.
There is a short 9 hole golf course nearby, as well as 18 hole courses at Forster and further north. Tennis courts are located at Pacific Palms, and are available to rent. Kayaks and small boats can be hired from the Frothy Coffee Cafe - a great way to spend an afternoon.
Head to 'The Reccie' for a lakeside drink/meal and watch the sunset across beautiful Wallis Lake.
Surf, sand, lakes, forest walks, sporting activities and absolute relaxation all contribute to making this an ideal location for your next holiday!
