Four bedrooms (one with ensuite), two bathrooms, expansive living area with floor to ceiling windows looking over the ocean (east facing). Large deck on ocean side with separate access from main bedroom.
Quality facilities including digital TV and DVD player, stereo and CD player, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, gas bar-b-q on ocean deck, heating and air conditioning as well as an open fire (pot belly wood fire with 3 speed booster fan). Fully equipped separate laundry. Large front and rear decks with ease of access (no steps). No stairs in the house, suitable for older folks and for children (play equipment - swings and climbing rope).
Accomodation is two queen size beds plus two more bedrooms with two bed bunks in each (4 bedrooms total). Total of 8 persons can be accomodated.

Here is the ultimate in coastal location with close up access to native birds, koalas and wildlife. Sleep to the sound of the ocean, see the sunrise from the deck and at night see the moon over the ocean. Slide open the bedroom doors to feel the cooling sea breezes and hear the waves and the wonderful birdlife. Many bird species visit the front and rear decks and koalas feed in trees around the house. Kangaroos frequent the grass nearby. Walk (10 min) to the beach or into the Great Otway NP near the house. Or visit the gloworms at Grey River picnic ground close by.
If you appreciate the natural environment you will love the coastal views and the ambiance of this house. Expansive views from the massive living room and deck - ideal for family holidays of for a quiet week-end for a couple.
Environmentally friendly in great setting
The owner has installed solar power to generate energy for the grid supplementing the energy used during your stay at Cara. All water for the house is harvested and stored on site. The water used in the house (including water used for toilets, showers, the kitchen and laundry, washing machine and dishwasher), is treated on-site and returned to the land clean.
All care has been taken to preserve the surroundings for you and future visitors to this unique part of the Otway coast. In choosing Cara for your holiday you will be helping to preserve the wonderful local environment for the enjoyment of future generations. Kennett River will get you right away from the activity of more populated holiday destinations while offering the convenience of access to a local shop (at Kennett River) and a gourmet cafe and a pub at Wye River (10 minutes away). Apollo Bay or Lorne are about 30 min. driving from Kennett River.
This location is perhaps best kept secret in this spectacular coastal region.
