Broulee Pizza & Takeaway
Ph.
Coronation Drive. At the shops in Broulee. It's a family business and their Fish and Chips are very good.
The Muffin Shop, Mossy Point
Cnr Surfside Ave & Pacific Street. Only minutes from Broulee beach. Continue north along Coronation Drive (beach on your right), cross Candlagan Creek, take 2nd right into Surfside. They’re at the end, at the corner of Pacific. Great muffins as you would expect. They do quite good breakfast and lunch, and have a selection of good breads a wider, fresher and better quality range of fruit & veg than Broulee supermarket. Usually keep fresh herbs, too. Open 8am-4.30pm Tue-Sun (usually closed month of August and first week after Christmas hols). They serve breakfast from about 9am, lunch till 3pm and coffees till about 4-4.30pm. Very relaxed. Outdoor tables & benches. In the same building is a small art gallery which often shows good works by local artists. Well worth a look.
Mogo
Old gold mining town. Fabulous tourist trap with yuppie and art goods for sale and antique shops that have some things older than me and all are worth the visit. Ginger ice cream is sometimes available.
Broulee Island
It once was an island. Now it is a walk along the sand to the island and a couple of kilometres walk around.Be careful not to skinny dip in the bay, it might be a long way from civilisation but when the Senior Citizens Birdwatchers march around and decide to sit down and lunch next to your clothes it can eventually get cold waist deep in the water.
Mogo Raw Art and Blues
A unique place and a truly surprising find - couldn't believe a place like this would exist on the south coast! Upstairs at 15 Princes Highway, Mogo (the main drag). Run by Steve Fox, whose particular interest is “outsider” art, both aboriginal and non-aboriginal, the gallery has an eclectic mix of prints, paintings, sculpture plus a wide range of CDS of his other passion, blues music. Exuberant and inspiring!
Mogo Zoo
Mogo Zoo is a privately owned zoo situated 10km north of Broulee in the picturesque and historic gold mining village of Mogo. See the rare white lions of 'Timbavati'.
