We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away at Tomah. It was the perfect 'BabyMoon' for us before our twins arrive at Christmas. We basically didn't leave for the entire time. THere was no need. Favourite spot would have to be the bathroom. Bathhouse is probably a more apt description. you could easily spend all day in or out of the bath gazing out towards the fabulous view.

"We stayed at Tomah for two nights and it was exactly the break we needed after a busy time. The house and garden are so wonderful and we enjoyed the spectacular view from the kitchen. Although the weather wasn't that good on our first day we were happy to stay inside and read a book in front of the fireplace. The kitchen has all the facilities you need so you can easily prepare your own breakfast or dinner. On our second morning we were even lucky to get three eggs from the chooks. We will definitely come back and would recommend Tomah to any couple who needs some time to relax in a beautiful surrounding."

This home has been thoughtfully designed to fulfil the senses. The house is perched high on the ridge enjoying long distant views. The structure is a marriage of two architectural styles, the old and the new, merged beautifully together. This gives the place a sense of home comfort in the kitchen and sophisticated urbane relaxation in the living room. Simply sink into the sofa and immerse yourself in the numerous architectural design books in front of a big log fire, whilst the peacocks starring curiously through the window.
A rich collection of object d'art and Australian memorabilia make this chic eclectic retreat a haven for anyone wishing for a weekend in style.
A very rare find indeed!

The views really are spectacular and that sunset bath with the Moet was a great idea. We enjoyed lovely bushwalks in the area and come home feeling very relaxed. Loved the flower and vegie gardens. And George is such a character!

We had a wonderful stay at Tomah. The house and views are beautiful and the lovely property and veggie garden is such a treat to wander around. George and his girls had us in stitches and the surrounds of Bilpin (Apple Bar!) and the nearby botanical gardens make for a wonderful couple of nights away. We'll be back!

thank you thank you.... we had a great time as usual when we stay at Tomah. The Aga is fantastic and so too is the orchard and gorgeous peacocks, roosters and ducks. The cottage itself is so comfortable and lends itself to the most incredible views of the mountains. No words can equate to the feeling you get when you stay at Mt Tomah, you just have to stay there.

This is one of the finest places that we have stayed in and we have certainly stayed in some genuine contenders!
Having the working garden is a great addition and leaving it open for guests again adds a dimension to the property which makes it "experiential" and for us, defines the great from the good.
At the end of the day, there is no shortage of incredible properties in this country but there is certainly a shortage of properties that embrace you as this one does and brings you into the "experience" of spending time there.
A wonderful place for all to enjoy, and we look forward to visiting again soon.

We completely fell in love with Tomah and really didn't want to leave. It's so wonderful that this home has been opened up and we felt very special for being there. We walked, slept, read, had a (magic!) bath, cooked, had massages, spent time on the hammock, hung out with the ducks and peacocks, visited Apple Bar (yum!), etc, etc. Now just counting down the days to the next visit...

We had a really wonderful time at Tomah and were thrilled with the house. We loved the relaxing feel of the gorgeous country kitchen, and how the whole house is so thoughtfully filled with items of interest and beauty. The bath especially is exquisite and designed especially well for two to soak into the late hours of the sunset over the mountains. Truly beautiful! As the owners hinted, the environs and home were so gorgeous we could not leave, although we did venture out for some great nearby walks and waterholes suggested by the owner. Everything was really comfortable and delightful. We hope we can come and stay again soon.

The best place I've stayed in the Blue Mountains, there is nothing else like it. In warm weather there is the huge garden, you can eat under the shady cherry tree or walk down to the rocks with the incredible view over the valley. If it's raining there is the fantastic kitchen, wood fired stove and amazing bath, also with a view. The garden is full of vegetables, herbs, fruit and fresh eggs from the chooks. The owners are extremely helpful and have fitted the house out beautifully. We loved it and we will be back.

What can I say other than our honeymoon will not be forgotten. We stayed at Tomah for a week over Christmas for our honeymoon and it really is the most wonderful hidden treasure in the Blue Mountains.
Tomah has everything you could possibly want in a place to be able to totally lock yourself away from the world and just relax and enjoy.
We ate so much out of the fantastic Aga while we were there, I mean wood-fired turkey for Christmas dinner followed by a long game of cards in the huge sunken bath tub... does it get any better... well yes it does! Tomah comes with a few colourful characters in it's resident chooks, ducks and peacock. We had so much fun feeding them and they kept us constantly amused.
Do yourself a favour and make sure you book Tomah, you won't regret it. We will be coming back to relive our visit over and over.

We really enjoyed our time at Tomah. We loved nights by the fire and using the wonderful bathroom. In spite of the rainy/overcast weather, we walked to the rocks and we agree it is a perfect picnic spot. We also liked reading the cook books and finding recipes to cook using produce from the garden, and noticed that Sean Moran's cook book was photographed at Mt. Tomah! It was interesting to see the subtle changes from a few years ago. The AGA wood stove was a novelty and very much enjoyed - and it worked well on Jamie Oliver's slow cooked lamb recipe. We enjoyed feeding Lola and George the peacock, though Lola did most of the eating and George instead liked showing off is feathers. We truly enjoyed everything and found everything wonderful, especially the views, fireplace, bathroom, kitchen, and garden. We will definitely be coming back...

I hoped a stay at Tomah would be great and it was, it was amazing and fantastic and a perfect birthday treat. This special house is immaculately maintained and is for 2 and only 2. It's fully self contained with the added advantage of a kitchen garden at the back door, whilst the other side of the house has a spectacular view over the valley. We were given some helpful tips on where to eat/where to walk, and on our departure was given the offer of taking some flowers and herbs home. The owners seemed genuinely pleased to have us as guests although I didn't actually meet them, it was all done by SMS. I highly recommend staying here especially if you are into food and cooking as the kitchen is first class. If you're like me you'll enjoy the garden (especially the waratahs - there are dozens on the property), the views and the quiet. From my husband's point of view, having a bath after a long walk with a view of the sunset was most memorable.

As soon as Dad said he was sending Mum over to Sydney (from NZ), as a birthday present, I booked a getaway at Tomah. I knew she'd love it, and I was excited to visit too. The house, the property, the garden, the wildlife and the environment absolutely exceeded my expectations. We relaxed, we fed the chooks, ducks and peacocks, we cooked on the Aga and we did as the owners suggested, and drank red wine in front of the fire. The owners leave you with the funniest, most helpful hints and tips for the house and the area - all of which are true and genuine. It's an amazing property - I'll definitely return and I've been whole-heartedly recommending it to everyone I speak to since we returned.

We stayed at Tomah for a 4 day long weekend and came home completely relaxed. The house is beautiful, with character and with fantastic views of the mountains; we had a relaxing soak in the large bath tub with glasses of wine while the sun set; we had the fire going (cosy and romantic) and cooked up a storm on the Aga stove - a lot of fun! On lazy nights, we ate at Apple Bar in Bilpin. We loved the peacocks so much that we researched buying a pair for ourselves. Lola followed us around, on the outside, like a pup. If you're looking for a getaway which is splendid and relaxing and feels welcoming, I'd definitely book for a stay at Tomah! PS love the chandelier in the bathroom and the vegie patch!

The owners of Tomah are very lucky to have such an amazingly beautiful place and we are extremely fortunate they are sharing their little
paradise.
On the brisk winter days we were there it was warm and cosy and the views from the house across the ridge are wonderful. We can only imagine what it must be like in spring (and summer and autumn for that matter).
The Aga oven was brilliant not only did it warm the house but also produced a perfect chook with oregano and creamed corned. Divine. We adored the salads freshly picked from the magnificent garden, the varieties are fabulous especially the ruby mustard leaves. Scrabble and cards by the open fire, magazines and books galore. The chooks had laid 3 eggs when I went up the next morning so they made a perfect breakfast of poached eggs with a little thyme. This place is a cook and gardeners dream.
If you can bear to drag yourself away from the property you'll find Mt Tomah and its surrounds are gorgeous. But you'll find it hard to do that because Tomah has everything! Staying at Tomah was a totally unforgettable experience.

Having to say goodbye to the cloud shrouded wilderness and captivating beauty of the Tomah experience was sad..and we'd only been there for a few nights. Where to start with praise for this unique mountain sanctuary......the glowing heart of the open log fire, the beloved mountain breezes, pottering in the veggie patch, collecting farm fresh eggs, going to the ginormous plush bath for a delicious bodyscrub, cooking up a storm in the homely kitchen, sinking into a delicious bed after hours of tramping, eating chocolate in the coma position on the plush lounge, the kookaburas screeching and of course the regal peacocks strutting round the garden. This is bush, nature, charm, cosy, luxury, magic and peace all at once. Tomah has to be seen and experienced to be believed. If you want to Feel pure, clean, sparkly and nourished it is a must do. We will be back again and again.

My husband and I just had a wonderful weekend at Tomah...we cooked the best lamb shanks we had ever tasted in the AGA (which was great fun to use) we baked bread, drank red wine, roamed the garden, got one egg from the chooks, fed the peacocks, lazed around, and enjoyed the fabulous Aesops aromas in the bath. A little slice of serenity and extremely private. One of the best on Stayz that we have visited.

It truly is amazing, very homely feel. From the fresh produce grown in the garden to the peacocks that roam around, its a great escape from the city lifestyle.
Theres so much to do there, but you MUST try out the bath.. its essential.
Ill recommend you pack your winter clothes and stay for longer then two nights, I know I wish I did.
