1 of only 8 at Magnetic Haven this fully self contained 2 bedroom unit has a full kitchen, laundry, living area - TV , DVD, bathroom, carport and balcony. Sleeping arrangements are one double room and one twin room. The Bedrooms, living area are air conditioned and whilst small in size are functional.The lounge room has 2 couches with one folding down to a bed.Each unit their own car port, clothesline and small balcony facing the pool

Ideal for a small family and or father/son stay. The Tropical surrounds bring plenty of parrots , blue tipped kookaburras and curlews to the complex. The pool is lagoon style and of good size with a water cascade at one end, spa jets at the other. Immediateley adjacent to the pool is a undercover self contained BBQ area with all necessary equipment. Alma Bay, arguably the safest and nicest beach all year round on the island is just 200 m down the road and to the rear of the property is the National Park and walking tracks.

Magnetic Haven is located in Arcadia, one of four village townships (Arcadia, Picnic bay, Nelly Bay and Horseshoe Bay) on the island. Arcadia is central on the island in terms of the other townships. The township offers shops such as the famous Arcadia Store, Butchers Pantry, Arcadia Tavern, Newsagency and Cafe Dell'Isola. Arcadia is also where you will feed the rock wallabies, eat at the Friday night markets and punt at the fun Wednesday Night Toad Races.

Getting around the island is easy. The Sun ferry service from Townsville is regular and a return ticket costs $29 rtn per adult. Transport offered on the island and from the ferry terminal are public buses (costing a gold coin or two), taxi's and car hire. Or you can bring your own car. Good scenic walking tracks also link the four townships together for those wanting to stay healthy and fit.

The Island offers plenty - On the island play Golf or go on the pretty Fort walk and spot a Koala. Horse ride on the beach or go fishing with Barnacle Bill at Horseshoe Bay or snorkel at Florence Bay (my favourite). There is a different restaurant for every night of your stay or eat well at home utilising the IGA, Food works, or Arcadia Store supermarket on the island.

Magnetic Haven backdrop is the granite boulders of the island's National park. The location is ideal for the beach called Alma Bay, a patrolled sandy beach and possibly the safest all year round and most picturesque. In 2009 this beach was voted in the Top 10 beaches in Australia in the Royal Automobile magazines.
