  • "Our family of five + canine had the most relaxing, wonderful 10 day holiday. My 3 children and dog absolutely loved the trek to the private beach each day. My husband and I loved the abundant bird life and waking up to beautiful bird song each morning. The weather during our stay was absolutely lousy, but there was nevertheless so much to do given the home's location to so many wonderful attractions. Highlights included the seal colony and beach at Cape Bridgewater, Cape Nelson lighthouse, and the swimming pool complex at Portland. My kids also loved exploring the gorgeous garden and playing scrabble and monopoly in the family room all things we just don't seem to have time for in the Big smoke. Overall it was a very memorable holiday and we will definitely be back. 10/10 "

  • "My family (including our pet Spoodle) had a truly great time at the Cottage. There was everything we needed including the small details such as the gum boots (required to get to the beach)and the free newspaper from the local shop. It was the smallest of details that made the holiday more enjoyable as well as the comfortable surroundings the cottage had to offer. We will most definately be returning for a future holiday and having a longer stay. A BIG thank you to Sally for making our holiday most enjoyable...The Horton Family"

  • "The Cottage was charming, beautiful garden, lots of birds, wonderful sunroom with a good array of books, music and movies. I loved the age of the building and the authenticity of the newer parts. Peter loved to be able to take the dog down to the wetland and row across to the beach to go fishing. Jasper the whippet also loved this. Peter also loved the isolation. In seven days on kilometers of beach he says that he never saw another human being. "

  • "Thanks for the wonderful stay at The Cottage. The accommodation was brilliant; the old homestead was so cosy and we felt very much at home. A lot of work has gone into ensuring guests feel comfortable! The gardens and beach track were spectacular, as was the row across the wetlands - amazing birdlife! "

  • "Thanks so much for our time at the Cottage. The house was excellent, the layout and spacious gardens were ideal for our family (2 adults and three small children)and it had everything that we needed(laundry, great bathroom, separate living areas, etc. The path out back which led to the rowboat, beautiful wetland and stunning beach was one of the highlights of our week down there. It was a perfect location to explore this magnificent section of coast, and great opportunity to have some high-quality time as a family. Thanks(we look forward to coming back!) "

  • "Such a beautiful place! We enjoyed our stay immensely. The garden was just gorgeous, and we enjoyed watching the gorgeous bunnies! It was also amazing to hear the roar of the ocean at night. Just stunning."

  • "We had a lovely time at the cottage. It was comfortable and cosy and the surrounding garden and wildlife was delightful to wake up to.There were plenty of things for us to do, whether we stayed home or went out for the day. Many thanks."

  • "Every possible need for a guest has been thought of and satisfied. The beds great, the bath amazing and the walks along the beach with not another soul around fantastic. Sitting by the fire at night after a hard days sight seeing topped it all off. We had a brilliant time and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks Sally!"
    Duncan, June 2011

  • "Stunning was the first word that came to mind. We loved this house that has been beautifully restored but still has that old, historical feel. It was really comfortable and just wonderful to come back to after our big walk on the empty beach at the back.Charlie our dog loved it too."
