Description

Whiskey Gully Wines, at Severnlea, is in the heart of the Granite Belt region which has ideal climate and soils for premium wine grape production. It produces elegant and fruity full-bodied red wines and well balanced white wines in both aromatic and fruit driven styles. The vineyard was established on one of the district's oldest station properties - Beverley - which was first settled in 1880 and the historic homestead has a cellar door outlet, a restaurant and there are also award-winning accommodation cottages.

Our wines have won over 60 trophies and awards at National and State wine shows since first showing our wines in 2001. Our winery received a 4.1/2 star rating from James Halliday in his 2009 Wine Companion indeed our 2005 Rep Red got 5 Stars. Other trophies have included Best Queensland Wine for our Chardonnay, Best Queensland Cabernet and Best Red Wine of Show for our Shiraz.

  • "We were very positively surprised with the whole setting. Lovely rural farmhouse offering a roomy restaurant and wine tasting. The whole family involved in entertaining the guests. Guitar playing and singing. Delicious food in lovely atmosphere. Our overseas guests from Finland were also impressed. The cottages were very practical and well equipped. Bountiful brekfast provided of local produce, freshly baked bread by Denise, the host and fresh figs from the property. True highlight of this holiday. Thank you again! We will return."
