Shore Delight is just that - a delightful three bedroom traditional Aussie beach cottage located in the heart of idyllic Currarong. Perfectly suited for a holiday break from the city or a getaway to the coast for families (especially those with children - the house is a level 50m walk to Currarong Creek which runs onto Currarong Beach and on further to the rock pool, Warrain Beach, Abraham's Bosom Reserve, etc, while stay-at-home time is made easier with the property surrounded by fencing, letting the l'il ones run wild), friends or any combination of the two.

The three bedrooms sleep up to nine, with the main bedroom containing a queen-sized bed, the second bedroom containing a double bed with a single bunk on top and a separate single bed, and the third bedroom containing another double bed with a single bunk on top. The bedrooms and bathroom border an open plan family room and fully-equipped kitchen complete with polished floorboards and tastefully funished - it is the perfect setting for relaxation when the day has run its course and the selection of nearby beaches and bushland have rendered guests worthy of a rest. At this stage, Shore Delight’s piece de resistance will come in handy - a large wooden deck that runs the length of the front of the house with glimpses of the sea and the sea’s breezes returned in tow, giving Shore Delight that perfect indoor/outdoor feel. The deck is complete with a gas-powered BBQ with which to fire up that fitting accompaniment to a well-deserved bottle of wine, and is fully covered to provide shelter from any cooling evening showers.

Shore Delight also contains a sizable master bathroom along with a separate "half bathroom" and outdoor shower, an internal washing machine, a television and DVD player, and at least one set of Scrabble should the weather turn inclement!

The Location

Currarong is a small coastal fishing and tourist village on the northern most Tasman Sea side of Jervis Bay, roughly 2 ½ hours from Sydney and 3 hours from Canberra. "Idyllic" is a common phrase used to describe it; "throwback" another useful one. If you want busy streets and a crowded nightlife, Currarong is not for you; however if, like most people, you want an escape from the hustle and bustle of home where time stands still and you can hear yourself think, there is no better place for a weekend away or that two-week break from work! Even on the busiest holiday weekends of the year, the areas many beaches will afford ample place to settle in your crew for the day.

And in spite of this tranquility, Currarong boasts of no shortage of activities for young and old. The village is in close proximity to a range of 14 white sand beaches, the closest being surfy Warrain Beach, rolling Currarong Beach and sheltered Abrahams Bosom beach. It is also famous for its rock pool, and easily accesses the numerous protected beaches along the other side of the headland in Jervis Bay. And when your fancies turn from beach to bush, the options for bushwalking through national park or coastal hikes are plentiful as well. Not many other spots in Australia boast such an iideal setting for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, diving and snorkelling.

Shore Delight is perfectly situated for all of these activities - situated on the high side of Walton Way which runs along Currarong Creek, it is at most one minute to the main access lane to Currarong Creek and Beach (and the others beyond) and not much further to the general store, newsagency, community tennis courts and a delightful fish & chips restaurant (make sure to get the oysters!)

Pricing and Other Details

Shore Delight - and all that it and surrounding Currarong has to offer - is available for holiday rental at a tariff that varies according to time of year and length of stay. Nightly rates start at $150 per night in the low season (winters are gorgeous in Currarong!) to $300 per night for peak season, with lower effective nightly rates for stays of more than 2 nights and weekender rates available. A cleaning charge and modest booking charge will also be applied for each stay.

Standard check-in time is 2:30 PM and check-out time is 9:30 AM.

Guests must supply their own sheets, pillow cases and towels; however, pillows and doonas are provided.
