Charmingly located on an island surrounded by Redden Island Nature Reserve and the Coral Sea. Wander along the beach collecting shells, fish from the deck or go for a leisurely bush walk. Meet the native wildlife of Redden Island - wallabies, birds, butterflies and Rupert. Rupert is our resident island steer- a local legend - just ask!
As the sun rises you will often see dolphins and pelicans offshore. Take a dip in the swimming pool surrounded by tropical gardens. Enjoy a cocktail on the deck as the sunsets over the Coral Sea.You will fall asleep to the sound of the lapping waves.

Sandcastle Retreat is newly renovated to the highest specifications.
The decor is contemporary in style with an eclectic mix of modern designer and antique furnishings. A Pierre Paulin Ribbon Chair sits, beside a Gail Mabo painting, in front of an antique Indian silk rug!
The fully equipped, open-plan kitchen and living areas extend seamlessly to the outside deck and BBQ area through glass bifold doors. The central kitchen includes a huge island bench facilitating group entertaining activities with sea views!
There are numerous games, books, CDs and DVDs to facilitate your leisure activities. The swimming pool is privately situated amid the tropical gardens. There are 3 state-of-the-art bathrooms and a well equipped laundry.
Sandcastle Retreat has 5 bedrooms sleeping 9 guests.
The Sandpiper Master Suite has a stunning en suite and dressing room. Bifold doors open to the beach-side garden.
The Princes Palm Family Bedroom accommodates a Queen bed, a white colonial cot and a comfortable antique wicker seating area.
The Heritage Bedroom evokes memories of a bygone era furnished with a beautifully restored Victorian double bedroom suite.
The Colonial Bedroom contains a Queen bed suite overlooking tropical gardens through windows dressed in white wooden blinds.
Rupert's' Bedroom is named in honor of our Redden Island bull. It is a single room full of character with beautiful sea views.

Walking distance
Fabulous beach walks - simply step off the deck. Fish from the beach, the sand spit bordering the Barron River or The Redden Island Bridge. Cross the road to Redden Island Reserve with hundreds of bird species. Walk across the bridge to Machans Beach with its' kids park, restaurant, pub, post-office, general store and cafe.
15 minute drive
Cairns CBD (cafes, bars, pubs, DFO, shopping, cinema, theatre). The Great Barrier Reef (Cairns Wharf), Cairns Northern Beaches, Golf driving range and internationally rated golf courses, Bungee Jumping, Cable Ski, White Water Rafting, Go Karts, Skyrail scenic cable car, Yorkeys Knob Boat Club.
