This pleasant well-equipped 2 bedroom-plus-loft cottage will guarantee relaxation from city hustle and bustle. The leafy privacy of the large well-treed block ensures a relaxing retreat from a day out walking in the many National Parks, cycling, or on the Bay dolphin watching, fishing or swimming.

The house has views over, and is located one street back from Nelson's Beach. (This is a dog-off leash beach from 4pm to 8am each day. It is 500 metres to picture-perfect Blenheim Beach or stroll along beachfront walking trails to Plantation Point and round to Collingwood Beach. Dine out at any of the many local restaurants or retreat to a private candlelit supper.

Vincentia shopping centre is 2.5kms. Pets will be considered on request but the property is unfenced.

A perfect fit.

This house is well fitted out to suit 2 and up to 3 couples looking for a low maintenance break, a romantic getaway for one couple, or 1 or 2 families for an active holiday. Children are welcome but the stairs and verandah rails are not "toddler-proofed", so supervision is required.

Downstairs is the kitchen, bathroom/laundry, queen bedroom, and living room/ dining room. Parrots and kookaburras will keep you company for sunrise coffees or evening bar-b-cues on the verandah with a view!

Upstairs is main queen bedroom with wall-of-glass views. Also upstairs is the the large loft room with double bed and two single beds. This room is most suitable for children.

Polished floors and timber feature throughout the light, bright interiors

The house is unpretentiously clean, comfy and beachy. The bathroom is all brand new while the Kitchen is 20 years vintage but spacious and practical with new fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave.

The house is "winterized", receiving good morning sun, and with electric column heaters upstairs and down, and an electric logburner fan heater in the living room adding cosy charm. There are electric blankets on the queen and double bed but none on the singles.

What to see and do

The closest attraction is Blenheim Beach. Walk south along Dacres St to Tharwa St then south along Elizabeth Drive to the entrance to Blenheim, about ½ km in all. This is a lovely small sheltered cove. Plantation Point with its numerous swimming spots is directly in front of the house. Follow your nose and the smell of the sea!

The area boasts numerous National and Marine Parks, good beach and nature walks, safe cycling for kids, beach and water activities galore. There is a boutique movie theatre at Huskisson, a heated indoor swimming pool complex at Vincentia, restaurants and cafes abound, and commercial operators run fishing, whale-watching, dolphin-spotting, bird watching and learn to swim, sail, surf, kayak or abseil trips.

In wet weather (though worth a visit anytime), try the Naval Aviation Museum at Nowra or The Lady Denman Museum at Huskisson.
